I have to laugh about all the posts criticizing people of faith, making fun of them and their beliefs, anguishing over their power in elections and just plain complaining about them. Why do you care? Why is it your business?
And please don't tell me about all of those nutty Christians coming to your door trying to convert you. It just doesn't happen that often.
As to their objection to homosexuality, we are all free to believe what we wish (last I looked) as long as we don't go out and hit someone.
As to electoral power. Tough. Every American has the right to vote, organize, lobby and influence the govt. to conform to his/her views of the world. That is America. Don't like it? Organize and vote the opposite way, but just quit whining.

Who you sleep with is not my business.
What my local public school teaches my kids is my business.
What my government acknowledges as marriage is my business.

i have to agree with you. It's not other business and i don't feel anyone has the right to bash anyones religion. I don't insult and be rude about Christians, so i don't expect them to be rude to me or try to 'convert me' or help me 'find the wrongness in my ways'. but if you are going to post something about your religion expect others opinions, and expect immature people to whine and be rude, it doesnt give you a right to whine about it or be rude about it though (not saying you are just making a point. i like trying to inform as many people as possible lol). Like my ex boyfriends entire family hates me, know why? Cuz his dads a pastor and they think my ways are sinful. so w/e let them think what they think. not my problem.

You are saying faith and I imagine you mean your religious affiliation and one can say that it is no ones business. However the bible states that FAITH without Works is dead and that is another matter namely yours. Some people who may come to your door are Jehovah s Witness s and their intention or purpose is NOT to convert you as many feel but to Honor the command to preach the Good News Of The Kingdom by God's son Jesus. If you need or want help in reaching out for Bible knowledge then they are willing to do what they can do. You have to show an interest as that IS YOUR business.

answer man, unless you have been living in a hole the last 8 years, you must realize the invasive problem that religion hass become, not just to atheists but to everyone. Tell me again why homosexual marriage is unlawful. Because the bible says......, how about abortion? Lets talk about the iraq war or even any of the middle eastern battles. It really boils down to jews vs muslims (why else are we supporting isreal), islam vs christianity. Think about WW2. The justificatin was antisemitism adopted from the christian faith. The united states is currently one nation under George Bush's faith.

When is your faith my buisness? When you start making laws based on the beliefs of your religion and not on the best interest of the people of a democracy. We are fast becoming identical to middle eastern religious run governments and we seem to be blissfully unaware of it

Then do all of us on the other side of the fence the same favor and quit whining about how godless Hollywood is, or that you're afraid of Muslim politicians, or how it's so scary that our "Christian Nation" is being threatened by other faiths...Or by people of no faith.

And you're right, every American does have the right to vote. But I as an American have the patriotic duty to ensure that the Constitution isn't violated by religious fanatics who are convinced of the superiority of their own beliefs. That's not "whining". That's patriotism.

You are free to hold whatever beliefs you want. No one can stop you.

However, once a person airs their beliefs in a PUBLIC FORUM, if those beliefs constitute hate speech, such as racism or homophobia, you must accept the consequences. Note that such speech is NOT covered under the 1st Amendment, since its sole purpose is to harm others.

"Hitting someone" has nothing to do with it, and is a completely different crime [battery] than committing hate speech and fomenting hate-based violence.

ask me what I believe, and I will be glad to tell you! Bash what I believe, whether it is on the forum or not? I'll bury you! You do not have the right to do that!
Don't tell me who I can sleep with! Don't tell me who I can marry, and who I can't marry! That is none of your business!! All should be able to marry, or none should be able to! That is just fair, and right! Morality has nothing to do with it!
Not only that, but it is unconstitutional, as well!
Practice your religion at church or at home! Do not bring it into my government or my schools!
and keep your bible to yourself!

People must learn to keep their nose out of things that don't concern them. But keep in mind your opinions effect everyone else too (when you vote for instance). To some extent we are allowed to talk to you about your beliefs (depending on how we do it). If you tell someone your opinion (I'm not saying you are) you're practically inviting him or her to give his or her opinion on it. If you keep it to yourself then everyone should keep his or her mouths shut.

Discussing religious beliefs is fun, and if you come here to participate then you must accept that some people will criticise and make fun of your beliefs.

It's not if you keep it private, BUT it's others when you go and say whatever it is that you're gonna say. It is not their business, however, to atack your faith or business, but to say it's not theirs or something. Hope this helps....

You've made it my business by asking this question.

I don't want any body's faith to be my business and it's not.....that's why we should all keep it to ourselves.....including our elected officials.

That would solve the whole mess.
