My 5 month old guy was done 2 weeks ago and he never missed a beat. He was all over the place as soon as we got home. It took my girl a couple of days but she's good to go now too. No guilt feelings for doing what's best for them! ♥

The neuter surgery is very quick, usually about 5 minutes. Your kitties will be under general anesthesia and the vet will give them an analgesic as part of the pre-sedation medications.
There is only a small incision made in each scrotum sac. There is little to no bleeding and no external sutures. The area around the scrotum sac will be shaved for sanitary reasons. They are usually only a little sore, not painful, from the surgery. The vet will give an antibiotic after the surgery just as a precaution.
The worst thing for them is being a little groggy from the anesthesia. They may or may not have a good appetite tomorrow evening when you bring them home, even though you have to take their food up at bedtime tonight.
I have had both kittens and adult males neutered. The kittens bounce back quicker, but it is because it takes less anesthesia to sedate them. All were little purr machines when I brought them home!
I have attached a link that shows a cat neuter if you are curious.
Purrs for you and kitties.

They may be sore, wouldn't you? But with your love, they will be much happier in the future. I had guilt feelings about finally getting my Tom cat neutered, but now he doesn't wander off. Before I wouldn't see him for a week, sometimes more. It sort of freaked me out because all sorts of things could have happened to him. Now he is happy, putting on some weight and loves being a cat. He's not always worried about seeking out a girl. Just make them as comfortable as possible. It will help that they are getting this done together too. Things will be fine... don't worry.

One has testicles, and the different would not, this is the only difference - one is in a position and prepared to make contributions to the over inhabitants of cats and the different isn't. Castration would not substitute a cat's character. they are going to be the same afterwards. it isn't any longer a incredibly painful op have self assurance it or no longer - they'll get carry of soreness alleviation, and in case you're frightened approximately them you could have some to take dwelling house with you in spite of the undeniable fact that it won't be mandatory. they are going to be quiet and groggy for the the remainder of the day, yet back to prevalent by ability of day after at present. The kitten specially will leap back rapid, and might additionally be back to prevalent by ability of the time you're taking him dwelling house! they don't get scars, there are not even any stitches in contact. it is in basic terms a tiny incision, out pop the testicles and that they are tied off and decrease. So, no adjustments in character. Castration in basic terms removes sexual behaviour - and for a male cat, this is barely the desire to roam to locate a mate. Oh, and the grownup cat's urine won't stink anymore! they'll nonetheless be the same cats, and you will have finished them, and the the remainder of the cat inhabitants, a favour. Chalice

Boys recover VERY QUICKLY. No pain meds needed. They are fine by the next day after anesthesia has worn off. Very simple 3 minute procedure. No abdominal incision. Simple.
People are pretty clueless about this rpocedure...clearly. There is NO abdominal incision...no need for exercise restriction!!! Two TINY incisions in the scrotum, testicles removed, NO SUTURES!!! People trap ferals, have them neutered, and set them fee the same day.
Pain meds are not necessary and have side effects, including prolonged recovery time from anesthesia. Our spay/neuter clinic does 50 neuters weekly, NO pain meds needed.

It's just like any other type of surgery. They will be in pain for a bit, but then it goes away. Don't feel guilty about having them neutered. It will keep them healthy because they will not get diseased intact males can get.

well yes of course it hurts but its tolerable. many cats have gone through this with no problems whatsoever. its very simple and actually hardly takes any time at all. dont be worried they will both be fine. after a day or two they will be back to their normal selves jumping on counters and digging through the garbage can.

They get pain meds. But my cat didn't have any bad effects. I adopted him Wednesday. The shelter neutered him Thursday. Friday I took him home. He was up and running and exploring and getting into all kinds of trouble Friday night.

They give them pain meds after the operation. But some soreness will still happen. Don't feel guilty, you've just extended their lives! Fixed cats are happier cats. Just don't ever have them de-clawed. That IS torture!

It's fine, they give them a pain killer. But if they stretch the place where they get the incision it may hurt. So they will be fine as long as you make sure you dont let them have to much activity
