Yep, an ice age with global warming. Bring's new meaning to the phrase "cold as hell."

Your point is that 35 years ago some scientists were predicting an ice age, and now other scientists are predicting a greenhouse effect. In 1971, atmospheric science was still in its infancy. The effects of solar radiation, cloud cover, the ozone layer and other factors was only beginning to be understood. If you actually read the article, I'll bet the predicted effect started with global warming, followed by rising oceans, increased cloud cover and eventually an increased reflection of solar radiation, precipitating the ice age. Since then, we've revised the sequence based on 35 additional years of observation. Still, it is impressive that back then we were being warned that we were having an effect on our climate, even if policy makers refused to listen.

The final ice age ended over 11,000 years in the past. it would look as though an prolonged time yet its no longer and no weren't going to circulate into an ice age. yet while ocean currents supply up from melting ice going into the sea and assembly up with water currents. it would make the sea much less salty slowing down the approach of upwelling water n the oceans. So in a manner it ought to ensue yet first the earth might of long previous concept different variations. The final bit became basically a concept.

We're coming out of an ice age. The last just ended about 10,000 years ago. We are, however, overdue for a polar switch by about half a million years.

Don't believe all the crap you read three sentences of then don't follow up on because you didn't pay for the rest of the article.

It's true that ice ages are a cyclic occurrence, not sure about the time frame but we are getting close. Gives a whole new spin on global warming though.

Sorry, can't get on the college library website from here to route around the buy-the-article thing the Post is doing; do you have a better link?

Look, one way or the other. Warmer or colder. Pick one and stick w it. I'm getting too tired of these policy shifts.
