You can or you can just say Amen I prefer to say In Jesus holy name Amen but that is my preference. I don't tell people how to pray. People should pray from the heart not repeat some words they heard one time. So if you want to just say Amen, in Jesus holy name Amen, or in Jesus name Amen. Go for it. It is your choice.

Because Jesus told us to pray in his name.

And the Hebrew word "amen" is the traditional ending for a prayer.

Good question. "In Jesus name," I can understand, but why do they then call on the Egyptian creator god Amen as a witness? That is the part they need to learn to understand.

John 14:13, 14: "Also, whatever it is that you ask in my name, I will do this, in order that the Father may be glorified in connection with the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it." (this is jesus talking to his disciples)

The word "amen" in both English and Greek is a transliteration from the Hebrew ’a‧men′. The meaning is “so be it,” or “surely.” The Hebrew root word from which it is drawn (’a‧man′) means “be faithful; be trustworthy.”

So when we ask things through jesus name, he has promised to give them to us (when they are in harmony with Jehovah's will), and when we say amen we're saying "let it be so" and also that we trust that Jehovah (who is the Hearer of prayer - Psalm 65:2 and 66:19) has heard us.

Mostly now, it's just tradition. In the Bible, most every book is ended with "amen", although not all of them.
So we are saying "In the words of Jesus, this prayer is finished, and let it be so".
Basically, I'm done prayin at the moment. Please answer and help me in all I've said.
Hope that helps!

because Jesus said "whatsoever ye ask in my name..." and the ritual sort of stuck... I don't know of any biblical prayer model that ends "In Jesus Name"... so I know it isn't necessary... and for some it is just a religious ritual that they just say for the sake of it... some make way too big a deal about it. My pastor hardly ever ends his prayers with that phrase and people used to harp so hard on him for it untill he preached about why.

Well, "amen" means "let it be done."
When we ask God for something, we want it to be done, but only for Jesus, or "in Jesus' name." You know the quotes, "I do this is the name of..." Well, we want what we pray for to be done in the name of Jesus, and not in the name of anything else.

Because Jesus ended the need for a Pope or a priest because we can pray through His name.
