Does anyone have any clue where I could get either another pitbull or another big dog of some sort to help me make it through this? It also needs to be cheap or free please I don't have very much money seeing how i'm only 16. Thank you!

U must b really sad. :( I know how u feel. If u have had him for a very long time he most have died from old age even if in perfect condition a dog can die if its really old, I guess. Anyway u said u wanted another dog. R u sure u r ready for another dog right now? I mean doesnt it hurt too much? Anyway, check your local newspaper and find the animal section theres some pretty good deals in newspapers. If u dont wish to do that ask around school or check animal shelters. If u buy one from a shelter u r really helping that dog out! that may b ur best choice or at least i believe so!good luck!
P.s I love pitbulls, I have 3 and 8 other dogs!

Dogs in perfect condition do NOT 'just die'. Not unless he met an untimely death by accident or misadventure. You should / could have asked your vet to perform a post mortem exam on him.
Nobody here can tell you why he died if you don't even know!
I know you are upset, but getting any old 'big dog' will not make up for the loss of your pitbull.
If you dont have much money, and a new dog would have to be 'cheap or free' then you aren't really in a position to offer a dog a stable, safe home - even 'HEALTHY' dogs need to see vets at times. Why not contact a local shelter and see if you can do some voluntary dog walking for them?

First off I am terribly sorry about you loss. There are tons of things that can happen. They can get into something like certain mushrooms or plants and that can cause it. My sister had a puppy who ate one little mushroom out of her yard that she didn't even know were there and he died the next morning.

Getting a new dog could be a great way to go to get over this.
Go to local shelters and look around. Depending on where you live you could look at craigslist.org they have a lot of great dogs that either need re-homed or rescued.

Best of luck and I hope you find a great new dog.

If you can't afford the dog than don't get one. Instead, go to your local shelter and volunteer. this way you can put that energy to good use by helping dogs that need good homes. As far as your pup I'm very very sorry but without a necropsy or a history I can't begin to speculate as to what happened. All I can say is that when you get your next dog put him on canidae or solid gold or even Merrick. any high quality food with no corn, wheat, soy or beet pulp and no preservatives. These things can cause cancer, IBD, seizures and a host of other problems.

I am so sorry to hear your loss. I have lost a few pitbulls / american bulldogs and I am always devestated when the time arrives. I adopt through humane societies and rescues. They usually only ask for minimal costs to cover vaccinations and food I have never paid more than 100 bucks for an adoptee, not to say they aren't worth infinitley more but...you get the pic. Remember but don't let it drag you down. You will experience many more losses through your life...

Go to the local shelter. There is tons of dogs in need of a good home! The dogs there are current on all vacs and have had a good health check - usually have been tested for heartworm - all that good stuff... Shelters usually charge only a small adoption fee...

You need to try to figure out why he died.
Very healthy dogs don't just drop dead. Did he get into something poisonous?

Look on petfinder.com. There are so many Pitts in rescue and shelters. Most never find homes and are euthanized.
There will be a nominal fee of $60.00 or so, and it will include shots, microchip, etc.

Good luck, and I am sorry for your loss.

It wasn't until I lost my own pet that I realised how devastating it is when you lose a pet-I used to think that people getting upset about their animals were sad!I really feel for you and getting another pet will definatley help.Try animal shelters-they normally ask for a donation which is affordable compared to buying a pedigree pup.Good luck xxx
