Is 2012 trendy?
I haven't really heard about this one. I thought the old Y2K thing was the last really trendy apocalypse date.
If I were picking an apocalypse date, I'd pick something like 2045 - exactly 100 years post-atomic. It's close enough that you can still work up a really good tizzy about it, but far enough away that you have plenty of time to work up t-shirts, snappy slogans, maybe elect a President or two who promises to avert it, and get some enjoyment out of the pre-apocalypse royalty cash before you have to worry about setting the next date when the world doesn't actually end.

They all blew it! Only people are dumb enough to think the birth of Christ was the event to start the calendar with. In terms of God's mind, the only reason the birth of Christ was significant was because of the life of Christ. The most significant event in his life was his death, or more specifically, his ressurection. So if all the people trying to count 2000 years from a date of historcal significance want a new date to try, find the age of Christ (what was it, 32?) and add it to the date of his birth (2 A.D.?) and add 2000.
Wow, can I write a book now! I can't beleive anyone would state an apocolypse date with any authority at all--no matter how much research I did, I'd still have to present the results of that study as nothing more than my wild guess.

what is with this number? all I know is jesus said no one knows the day or hour, we can know approximatly when we are in the last days but the bible never specified how long it would take for prophecies related to it would be fulfilled tho there are only a very few left.
who said 2012 was the end? I remember seeing this number in relation to the new world order folks goal date to have everything in place for total takeover of usa, britain, and other countries not yet under their full control. something to do with the age of aquarius or something? I remember a movie called hair that used that song called age of aquaries and that when the moon is in the seventh house and jupitar aligns with mars etc that an age of prosperty would prevail. of course stars are just that non living entities that cannot do anything except what the laws of physics says. but i guess many people higher ups do believe in astrology. kings in times past have always used socerrers and foretellers and stars, looking into the liver and such, so I guess it is no surprise that the wealthy elites do these things, including going to mediums to talk to dead people when making major decisions. of course they are talking to demons who use this as a way to control the decisions they make.

Well, the world has been ending for the past 4 - 6 thousand years, according to religious nuts. My main concern is that one is going to get into a position of power and believe it so much that they will push the button and destroy the earth. Religion needs to be destroyed, before it causes any more problems.
The next trendy date will probably be 2020, due to the number sequence or something like that.

The world will not end in 2012, this is just another major event.
A lot of people thought the world would end or something to that effect in 1960.
1960 fulfilled the Time(s) of the gentiles, and begun a new age. The world will not end until 2940. But things are going to get really bad, it has already started.
Jesus prophetized this in Matthew 24, Luke 21, Mark 13, Revelation chapters 8, 17, and 18
The next president of the U.S. will fall to Asia and Russia, during his term in office, it maybe anywhere from 1 day in office to 8 years.
The U.S. will have floods, drought, fires, pestilance, deases, famine, economice and military upheavals. It does not matter who is elected, this will happen.

Usually the religous nuts pick a date just far enough in the future that people will still get freaked out over. They always discover some text that reveals another date - and so on, and so on, whenever we reach the next date on the list and nothing happens. Probably within the next 50-years will be another "prediciton," and yet again we'll all still be here. Maybe some natural disaster/war/etc. will occur and the religious nuts will say "It's God giving us a warning/sign that we must repent" or some crap like that, but it's all bunk.

There's no telling. You can bet that it won't end in 2012 though, just because some calendar from some ancient people does. I have a calender every year that ends, but the world is still here- lol.
I imagine it'll be like 2020 or some random number like that. 2050... Who knows? Being a Christian, I don't believe that anyone will see it coming. That's what the Bible tells us.

Unfortunately the world will end one day, but it will not come about from some non-tangible entity which created the universe, it will come in the form of our power source dieing out. One day the sun will become unstable and before completely going out will engulf the planets closest to it including earth. The good thing about that is everything on earth will be dead before that happens and everyone alive today will be long dead.

No one knows. Altough people have been guessing for years when the world would end the Bible DOES NOT give a time. In fact the Bible states "It is not for you to know the time or day of my return."

Since you don't believe in the 2012 Apocalypse prophecy, why would you want to know the next one?
Just to deny it?
Or our you just harassing the easily deluded?
I bet you are.
