I've been loosing weight and I'm looking to loose more, because I haven't reached my goal. I experiment at the gym with trying different exorsizes and yeah. I am ALWAYS on the stairstepper (30 min) and then I go to the tredmill. Usually I walk uphill (setting between 6-12) and at a pace of 3.5. When I 'run' it's at 4.0 and flat ground. I'm always on the tredmill for 30 minutes. this entire week I've done the stair stepper and uphill, but I haven't lost anything. However, in previous weeks, I've gone twice a week and I ran, not fast walked uphill. But I always lost weight. I know it's not my diet. I am, however, curious as to is it running that causes you to loose more fat? Because when I walk uphill, I burn more calories then just running. I don't understand and I don't know which one to do.

As for heart beat, my uphill walking is in the cardiovascular level, above weight loss. So, that most likely isn't it, but I will ask the gym workers...

The answer lies in your heart rate.

When you walk up a hill you must be exerting yourself more than when you are running on a flat surface, so the solution is to start running on an incline.

After that I would vary the routine, ask the gym people for advice, they are paid to help you and your dues pay them for that help so they should WANT to help you. Tell them what you do and what else you can do. For example the rowing machine involves your arms and legs, which could burn more calories.

Often when you have a regular workout routine the body gets used to that, the exercise heart rate slows down, and you get less weight loss. So you need to shake things up a little and break the routine, if you work muscles you haven't worked yet then they are going to be screaming for more fat reserves and that might help you reach your goal.

I have been told that the best exercise is to get your heart rate above 120 beats per minutes for at least 40 minutes, so you might want to add some time or another routine to your exercises. If time is tight (isn't it always) then the switch up in routine and a machine that involves more muscles could be your best bet.

The answer is in the heart rate for each exercise you are doing. Another advantage of the walking uphill is that there is less of a negative impact on your joints vs running.

Think about what contain to your diet, not everything you must take away. Integrate delicious veggies into your meal, rather than serving them privately. Not only will they offset the fat with your chicken or meat, but the phytochemicals in fresh produce are that can prevent diseases.

People who plan their weekly meals tend to be successful at losing weight than people who don’t. Plan your dishes to feature healthy carbs such as special potato and wholegrain pasta, greens and lean proteins, buy the many ingredients in advance and don’t be tempted to nibble on out or order in.

Suck it in. Consciously hold in and contract your abdominals while you’re walking, sitting for your desk or making the supper. This will help to strengthen your stomach muscles and your core, and provide you with one step closer to a new flatter stomach.

Eat goats cheese rather than regular cheese. It contains 40 per cent fewer calories than the cheese constructed from cow’s milk.
