I am thinking chili-cheese sloppy joes tonight for dinner...
any ideas for a good red wine?
a good California Syrah? or Zinfandel?
or Australian Syraz??

I would go with an old vine zinfandel such as:

Renwood 2004 Old Vine Zinfandel
The 2004 Old Vine Zinfandel is medium ruby in color. The bouquet consists of brown sugar, caramel, sage, eucalyptus, and bursting with dark berry fruit. The flavor is a sumptuous blend of warm blackberries on the entry, with a hint of dried fruit, finishing with sweet fleshy tannins.($19.49)

Hmmm...for such a classy dish as chili cheese sloppy joes, I would go with an equally classy wine such as Thunderbird or Cisco.

honestly you are making sloppy joes, why are you drinking a true wine? you should be making a fun sangria.

Nope, go with a heavier, full-bodied red like a cab sav or a merlot.
