You're in luck. We are living in the golden age of amp building. You will have to look around, but a good way to familiarize yourself with upper end amps is to keep an eye on the more expensive models on Ebay. I learned a lot about amplifiers this way, and by reading the related reviews on Harmony Central. As to what to get, that depends on what you mean by "bluesy" - some folks use Fender, some use Marshalls, some use Mesa Boogie, some use Carr, Blankenship, Matchless, Bruno, Zinky, Guytron, etc. The only bad news is now you have to figure out which one you like the best, and then you have to PAY for it!

Do you mean you want an amp that isn't quite as expensive as some of the more popular amps? I use a Roland for jazz, a Fender for blues.. and now I'm getting to the amp you might want.. Not really expensive and with some decent tones.. The Berringers(Not sure of the spelling). I've played through one.. Solid state.. Not bad and the price is decent too.. Personally, I'd save up and buy a Fender, Mesa-Boogie.. Both great amps. Good luck.

I am assuming you want non-brand name because you want a cheaper price. Personally, I think your best choice is going with a brand name amp, and just saving up for it or whatever it takes. Believe it or not, the Line 6 Spider III combo amp has a really smooth blues section to it. And along with the blues, you get like 10 different amp style within the amp. Other than that you can go the Fender way which is classic American. The 1 and 2 x12 Fenders and absolutely amazing. (twin reverb for example). If you want that American feel blues, stay away from the marshalls and voxs (they originate in Europe)

if you've got some cash, a marshall is classic, or a mesa boogie, but that's not as bluesy. you could always go fender for a classic blues sound. if you run into an old vox head, that would also be good. i'm sorry i don't know about non-name brands for a good blues sound.

IF there is no brand name how are we supposed to recommend an amp?? ,Like theres this amp, it's got like speakers, and knobs and it's about 20 inches high and it's black wit gold metal parts and like it sounds just like what yer lookin for, man. Just tell the guy at the store this description, and he'll know exactly what you are talking about,
