First of all, it states that the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man. Why? Because God opened up Adam's side, took out a rib and created woman, which is why women have an extra rib, one more than men do. It also states that for as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman, but all things of God. How is it that a man is also by the woman? Because women give birth, not men. So, doesn't that mean that women give birth to men, yes. And God created all, man, woman animal, as well as Sun, Moon, Stars, etc. Vs.. 7 states that man is not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of the man. Now this doesn't mean that a man must be bald. Because in Leviticus Ch. 19 vs 27, it states that, "Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard." Vs. 15 states that a woman having long hair, is a glory to her, and it is given her for a covering.

I think you are speaking about covering. This was custom of the times. A man having a "head covered" by a turban..showed he was that he is ashamed before God, and unworthy with open face to behold him." While a woman had a "veil" because if a woman should appear in public without a veil, she would dishonour her head-her husband. And she must appear like to those women who had their hair shorn off as the punishment of whoredom, or adultery.
So no..customs have changed quite a bit and it would be very strange indeed to follow those today.

I think it is the same now as then. I don't think that the covering of my head means to put it on like clothes... I just think it means hair. I don't understand why God would make women cover their heads any other way because you know out in the deserts it was hot! And I sweat an awful lot... it has something to do with salt in my body or something I don't remember... I am not gonna put something on my head.

I believe it applied to the time in which the Bible was written but it would be quite difficult for it to apply in today's world. So many women are left to raise their families and actually be the major "bread winner" that it places them as head of the house. Sure it would be nice if all men would step up to the plate and be responsible for their wives and children, but we just don't see a lot of that happening.

Paul wrote to judge for yourselves that there is no such custom among us, or in any of the congregations of God's people. So, he was only making a point to be at peace and not making a law in which one would be bound.

Yes it still applies. The Bible has not changed and God does not change.
Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Mal 3:6
For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Philemon 1:3

If you read verse 16 very carefully which explains everything the writer just wrote or the speaker just said
16But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
Everything he just wrote about he says we have or there is no such custom for anything he just said
some of you people need to learn to understand what you read.

First notice this is all about PRAYING to God, and whom
God decreed to be the Head of whom. A man's head is
Christ and he prays directly to God through Christ, so no
need to cover his Head. A woman's head is her husband,
but she doesn't pray to God through her husband; she has
power to put-aside/cover her head/husband and pray
directly to God through Christ. Why? Because of the angels
or inward man. Their is neither male nor female within
God's Spiritual kingdom, and we pray through our Spirit,
not through the flesh man or woman.
Yes, I know there are a lot of persons who disagree with the
man being the head of the woman, but you are disagreeing
with God, not with me!!
