That varies greatly from singer to singer... so there is no set highest/lowest note out there. And every time someone sets a "highest" mark, other people try to beat it.

The way they achieve such ranges is to practice. They vocalize daily, for hours a day. Every time they try to stretch a little bit further, either higher or lower.

Vocal production is about the mechanics of breath control interacting with your vocal chords. You'll have natural limits, but you can train your body to pass those limits over time.

The key is to push slowly, so you don't damage yourself. It's also a good idea to seek the help of a vocal coach. Just like a physical trainer can help you lift heavier weights, a vocal coach can help you stretch your range.

Good luck!

First not all opera singers have a 5 octave range, that is why there are different voices. (ie soprano, contralto, alto etc.)

Second opera singers train a lot. Opera training is very different from any other voice training and much more difficult.
The highest note that an opera singer (female) would pride themselves on hitting is a high C. A perfectly tones high C can actually break glass. I know some singers can hit higher notes, but C is pretty high. I'm not sure about the lowest, I am sure it varies.

probably lots of practice and training! i hate it when people make fun of things they think are stupid..i've learned to appreciate almost everything that takes hard work and practice.
