I just went out and bought a flea collar for my puppy because I saw some fleas on her. Its a light brown, almost tan, color, and it is helping with the fleas (I guess, im not sure). But the problem is that the flea collar smells terrible, and is EXTREEMLY Strong, and it smells anywhere in like a 5 foot radius. Even when I take it off, I have to give her a bath to get the smell to go away.

Any help?!?

Any ideas, or other brands I can try that dont smell?

Please name them!

Thanks for any help!!

Get her on Frontline or Advantix - They smell a little the first day, but that's it and they're good for a month.

Flea collars are "Old School"...

What's wrong with her flea collar is, it's a flea collar. Vile things! They don't work, and yes, they often stink. Don't bother with any of them, you want to get rid of fleas not poison your puppy!

Get a proper flea treatment from a vets, i.e Frontline, Advantage, Revolution or Advocate. Frontline can be used on puppies from 8 weeks of age - before this age, it has to be Frontline spray.

Please don't waste any more time with store-bought products - so many are dangerous, and none work.

Flea collar's don't work and they can be toxic to pups. Take it off and throw it away. Give your pup a bath and get some front line. It's safer for your pup and it may cost a bit more but at least you will not be poisoning the puppy or you for that matter..

Flea collars don't work and are bad for pups.
Talk to your vet about flea, tick AND heartworm prevention for your pup. You can purchase medication from your vet to handle all of this and it will do a much better job, it won't smell and your pup won't get sick.

There are several brands available but your vet can recommend one - maybe Revoluntion or Advantix. Just ask them about it.

Good luck.

IMO they all smell pretty bad. But, then, they do work. I'd take a pong over a flea anyday!
Make sure your 'puppy' is old enough to wear the brand you have bought - most have age restrictions.

How old is your puppy? If he/she is old enough, you can put on Frontline, Advantage or Advantix. These are topical applications for your puppy each month.
