Martin Luther said that to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Well, my conscience tells me that yes, I should be open with others about my relationship with Christ. After all, if I ignore such an oppurtunity, that person or persons may not get another chance to hear the truth before they die. Why should I care about my personal image in others' eyes over the eternal destiny of someone else? That would be incredibly selfish, and also like stabbing Jesus in the back. If I made a promise to give my entire life to Jesus and obey His every word, yet fail to live out the commandment to 'Go and make disciples of all nations', I have broken a promise at another's expense. Nobody that I can see with my eyes likes a broken promise, so why should it be any different with someone I can't see, yet know beyond a shadow of a doubt is there?
I'm not saying that if you are uncomfortable speaking about it with strangers/friends/etc. that you are sinning. I do not mean it that way. I used to always think about what other christians would think of me if I did or said something 'weird' or 'out of the ordinary'. But after an incredible experience with the true power of Christ's love, I have no more such fear. I will boldly proclaim my faith to those willing to listen, and, if given the oppurtunity, those who may not be willing to listen. But it is a process- just let yourself be the clay in the Potter's hands and let Him shape you and form you into the way He wants you to be.

Ashamed? No. Worried that I'll get fired or punched in the face? Sometimes. I am not ashamed of believing, but as Ecclesiastes says, there is a time and a place for every purpose under heaven, and that includes a time to mention or not mention Jesus.

I was when I was a christian, unfortunately. Altough I never was a christian by choice, but just I was forced t attend church and sunday school until I was 16. Later I understood that this shame has nothing to do with christianity unfortunately, Im just one of the people who worries about what others will think about me too much even I know in many cases I should not give a jack

Not really. I'm the kind of person that is already thought of as being strange and outgoing, so it just fits in with who I am. I get nervous sometimes, but when I think about what it all comes down to ...it doesn't really matter what they think about me.

I used to in the past. Now I have enough confidence that I don't care what they say. I figure if they cant handle it, then I need better friends. I don't go overboard, but we will talk about it now and then.

Me? Oh, i don't care...it's just as natural for me to open my mouth about things of the Lord as it is for guys to talk about cars, or relationships, or anything..it's just a topic of discussion that i choose to speak about like everyone else has chosen topics to talk about too....no big deal...and, it's something i like! I don't hear others say anything about someone when they are taling about when they got "drunk" last, so, it gets me if they say something when i choose to talk about what i want to in a public place...it's a "topic" of discussion...that's all....

Not at all. I am not ashamed to share my faith with anyone. I even wear hats and t-shirts with scriptures on them to invite people to ask me about Jesus. Jesus said,'If anyone confesses me before men, I will confess him before my Father in heaven'. In other words, when youtalk to people about Jesus, He mentions your name before the throne in heaven to God the Father. AWESOME!!!!!!!
