Some people can go on just blind faith. Others need tangible evidence and/or scientific proof that something exists. As for the Bible saying so.......
You have no idea whether God inspired the Bible or not because you weren't around when it was written. So to those that need tangible and actual proof that something existed, your support for your beliefs doesn't seem all that credible. If millions of people "believed" (key word) that God inspired Mother Goose's Fairy Tales would it mean that it's true?
Cheryl E, exactly!!! I also believe in God but there's no way in hell (no pun intended) that I would live my life according to a book, all while assuming that it was written by God. I'd rather live my life by my own rules instead of following what could be another man's idea of how everyone should live.

Well anyone with the IQ of a embryo can come to the conclusion
that man made books = man made philosophy. I understand why you think the way you do I have been there. But there comes a time when you must put away childish things and act as an adult. Start researching where your religion and your so called Bible came from. Then check out the history of how many men women and children were killed for not being xtian.Look at how many North American Indians had xtianity forced on them. Now do your home work search out the truth and then you will be one of us. One of those that refuse to be a party to a cult of pedophiles and child molesters that claim they know a god, and it is man, and it come from this man book. Come ON GET REAL with yourself people. STOP being pulled around by the nose.

Why is it hard? Because life is hard, and some people believe that God would not allow life to be so hard. A lot of people need hard objective evidence to believe something, or believe that they have sufficient evidence against it. Some people aren't willing to go on faith (this isn't meant to be offensive, but watch how many atheists mock faith, and you'll see what I mean).

I believe that gods exist, but I don't believe in sin or that anyone died for mine. And I don't live my life by any book written thousands of years ago that has no relevance to anything today. I don't put my life in the hands of any one book or any one person's rules. I can think for myself.

Actually I think the books say that Jesus died for your sins, not god....
You can't tell people to take the bible at face value while misinterpreting what it says.

No evidence.
We simply don't believe your book is real, so arguments like "the bible says so" or "it says right here that he died for your sins" are meaningless to us.
Give us something VERIFIABLE, something that can be put to the test and shown to be factual -- if your god was real or prayer had any measurable effect, we should (in theory) be able to form controlled experiments to test it...but each time we try, and religion fails miserably, you quickly jump in and say, "Oh, well that doesn't count!" "Non-Overlapping Magisteria!" "God doesn't perform on command!" But if you HAD gotten positive results, would you still be so insistent that it really didn't matter?

As a Christian I find it hard to understand why people do not believe in Jesus. I would have to say that those who deny God have been swayed by Satan's lies and their hearts have hardened to the message of salvation and the love of God.
