OMG!!!!!!!!that is so cooool....my dog does that too!!!! well, except for the fine French dining- he loves a little pate with his cognac. But you know what is even cooler- he doesn't ask lame brained questions, even when he's playing dumb, in fact he often takes a stab at figuring out how, or what or why before he asks anything.
