Carol Anne Gotbaum, who was handcuffed and shackled to a bench, may have accidentally strangled herself Friday.
Gotbaum, who was arrested for disorderly conduct after she was kept off a flight at Sky Harbor International Airport.
Gotbaum's family accuses police of manhandling the New York woman when they arrested her Friday.

Always two sides to every story, I think, and it is important to hear all sides before leaping to conclusions.
What was she doing before she was arrested? So many questions, so few answers. Too much speculation to conclude anything.
What is her history of behavior? How was she when she was arrested? Who were the cops who arrested her? These questions have yet to be answered.

I live in Phoenix. One of the better police forces around. There was a chain going from her handcuffs to the metal bench she was sitting on. Police speculation is that during the 7-9 minutes she was alone, she got herself twisted into such a position that the chain strangled her. Toxicology results may change that picture, but 1-2 weeks away. Why was a violence-prone substance abuser travelling to a detox center unaccompanied? Where was her famous NY family, that will probably sue the socks off Phoenix PD?

I think the accusations of Police Brutality are crap!
It sounds like positional asphyxiation is what happened.

i don't believe she strangled herself,but am willing to wait for the autopsy results. Too early to say for sure it was police brutality.

Not one source named to give your words credibility. I know she died in police custody, but the why has not been released yet because no autopsy has been done yet.
Maybe you should wait for doctors to say something before posting propaganda.
