Before for you say take him to the vet, he's already been taken to the vet. I want to know what others think of his condition, if it is similar to what the vet thinks. This is the 2nd time a pet has been taken to this particular vet with the same result. (that I have heard of)
The dog can't get up, drink or eat, and when he is stood up on his feet he whines and falls back on his side again.
I know its not much to go on, but the dog was extensively tested and the answer to whats wrong with him seemed a little "off" to me. But I'm not a vet.
Thanks in advance.

Could he possibly have a pinched nerve in his hips or spine? I've heard of that causing an animal pain to where they cant stand and cry when they have to try to stand.
Take your dog his food and water because those are essential in keeping him alive and healthy.
Like you, I had an incident with one of my dogs and I didn't agree with my vet so I asked around and got recommendations for another vet from family and friends. After taking my dog to the new vet my baby girls problem was diagnosed and now she's happy, healthy and back to her old self. NEVER take what the vet says as the only answer! If in doubt get a 2nd or even 3rd opinion!!!

Well if he can`t get up I would say thats sevre arthritis. How old is he? If he is older it could deffinately be a problem. He seems to be in some kind of pain, but I`m not sure about the drinking & eating thing. Maybe the pain has made him weak so he won`t eat. There is also a condition where their stomach twists causing pain that the dog can`t walk & he can`t eat. Its more common with larger dogs though & he might look a little bloated if that was the case. I`ll try & see what that is called...but I`m not exactly sure. If the vet does seem off to you even if you AREN`T a vet, go see a different one just in case for your dogs sake. I hope the poor pup is ok =( Good luck.

Is the dog old? It could be some type of cancer that has gotten really bad or a wide variety of diseases. I am sorry about your dog and if it was me and I had the money for a second opinion from another vet I would bring the dog to a different vet and see what they think or even call around to local vets and describe the symptoms and see if there are any more test they can run. Vet's aren't always right and I had a vet who lied and said they ran tests and were treating my cat for cancer but upon bringing the cat to another vet I discovered the previous vet really wasn't treating the cat just collecting my money.

Well, how could anyone know without seeing the dog - and what is the condition your vet diagnosed?
Since you have no faith in your vet, take your dog to another vet - sounds as if your poor dog needs help desperately, it's certainly not normal for a dog to have those symptoms.
He will die if he can't drink or eat - you need to get help for him.

Did the vet call this "Wobblers syndrom"?
Is this a Doberman Pincher by chance?
What did the vet say?
You didn't give us much information.

Sounds like it could be hip dysplasia, or a spinal condition, but cuold be a kidney problem. Like someone said; go to another vet if you don't like this one's diagnosis.

Hmmm....vestibular syndrome? I've had dogs with vestibular syndrome, and they cannot get up,as their inner ear is affected. It does improve with time, though. You just have to help the dog eat and drink. Is this what he has?

No idea, but if you don't trust the vet's advice you should try a different vet.
