Their instruments sound unique especilly their drums. Do they use different instruments or is is adjustment of their guiters and drums that make thier sound different than the other bands?

people missed my ques. i dont mean in general. i mean technically they have a unique sound from their instruments. cause when u heard them on the radio u immediately know its van helen. what instruments do they use or what do they do to adjust their drums to make their unquie sound

Because they had their very own, unique sound, which is why they were so popular.

It was because they were produced like a '60s or '70s band. Most other bands that sounded more or less like Van Halen from a musical standpoint were prone to overproduction.

I remember their critics in the late 1970s and early 1980s used to say that all this group did was play variations of "Louie, Louie" and if it hadn't been for their guitarist, there really wouldn't have been anything to distinguish them from other bands that were around at the time.

Dude, they sound like any other generic pop metal band, except for Eddie Van Halens solos.
