The average department takes applications, then after reviewing them, schedules physical agility tests, psychological tests, background checks, polygraph tests, a medical physical, and oral interviews.

This could take months. That is why most departments take applicaitons even when they are at full staff, to have the process started to fill future vacancies.

Sometimes depends on the size of the department, and whether they advertised for an officer!~!

depends on a lot. depends on your qualifications. the dept. if they are hiring or not. it could take up to 3 years. also depending on the state
