US and Iraqi deaths are down, and we're killing the enemy. Do you still claim the surge hasn't worked, and won't work? What do you base that opinion on?

The war on crime is never-ending, cops get killed every year, and it will never end. It's unwinnable! So, should we quit fighting that war?

The proof that it is working is that our troop deaths have gone down every month since May, and so has the number of bombings.

Guitar57,
It sounds like you're saying there is no bad news, but you're sure there there must be some that's not being reported. Aren't you refusing to accept facts?

I am a crunchy con Dem and I thank God for the surge, but we need to reve it up exponentially. We've got to become more vicious in prosecuting this war on Islamo Fascism.

Hi!

I'm not a Democrat but: "US and Iraqi deaths are down, and we're killing the enemy" Did you not just contradict yourself. Yes death are down, but they are still happening.

This war, as previously stated, is unwinnable and won't end. Do the American people even know why they are over there anymore?

Who says the deaths are down? The same people who said there were weapons of mass destruction there? The same ones who outed a CIA agent? The same ones who told us the war was over? Hmmmm let me think about that one.

The day the Iraqi govt says "OK we've got it from here" will be the day the "surge" worked. I really don't see that happening any time soon.

nope

we only patrol small portions of iraq now, those are the only areas we report on, and guess what its less dangerous now! we dont even control a majority of bagdad, jsut ask the polish ambasssador that got blown up yesterday in a supposedly "safe" area.

the british have retreated out of the city of Basra (2nd biggest city in Iraq) and it is now in the hands of militias including moqtada. they have effectively cut off the only port of retreat for our army and now we have not place to retreat to other than Kuwait

if you call that "worked" then yah hoo we win!!!!

no, because the only thing that has changed is a whole bunch of deaths aren't counted. Part of the Strategy of the fake valor medal winner and stooge Petraeus testifying to congress.

Don't agree. What you hear in the news is only one part of Iraq not the whole country.
