The bible says not to do it!

When you think about it no one can really know the future. If you do look into the future the action alone would change what you saw. It is kind like the Grandfather theory in time travel!

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. If you are asking if God approves of fortelling the future, the answer is no. If you are asking if the Bible foretells the future the answer is...only in the Old Testament many things were foretold, but it was by God only. Truth is, no one knows the future, but God and Satan. Since God isn't telling us the future, anyone else who claims to do so is doing it through Satan. Hope I didn't confuse you more.

"But the prophet who shall speak a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he shall speak in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ 21 "And you may say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ 22 "When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him," (Deut. 18:20-22).

We can see that the criteria of a true prophet is not failing when predicting the future. This is because God, who is outside of time and the creator of the universe, makes no mistakes when he tells us what will happen. Those prophets whom he has called will not make a mistake and prophesy the future, since to do so would mean the person is not speaking on God's behalf. Therefore, if anyone claims to be a prophet of God and speaks in the name of God and gives a prophecy that fails, then the person is not of God.

Hopefully, you are asking "what does the Bible say with regard to predicting the future?" I don't believe you are asking about "fortune tellers." If you are, God is against them.

One really dramatic act yet to happen is Damascus becoming a heap of ruin.

The Old Testament talks about a "seer" or a fortune teller that King Saul went to on the night before he was killed in battle.
She told him he would die the next day.

The Bible doesn't say any thing really negative about her or the fact that Saul went to see her. It simply tells it as part of the story.

Its always been my theory that God wants us to trust Him with our destiny enough to not need to know our future. Unlike many of the fundamentalist groups, I don't think there's anything truly evil about fortune telling.... I have several tarot card decks myself!
But again..... it's our choice.

I recommend you read it. Especially Revelations.

In regards to your question, many characters in the bible were capable of doing so. Is your question relevant to the religious morality of fortune-tellers and the like?

The Bible tells us that no man except the God that created us knows the future. He warns against listening to fortune tellers.

Prophecy is for the believer so that when the thing comes to pass he will recognize it. It is not for the unbeliever. My own personal advice is to look at anyone talking about prophecy with a raised eyebrow. Really now, what human can accurately analyze such things.

In the bible it tells people not to follow fortune tellers because only God knows what your future will be. Don't believe in foretelling. Nobody, but God knows.
