You say that atheists are proud to be evolved from monkeys and scoff?

Why do you think it is a matter of being proud?, its a matter of acknowledging what actually happened.

Are you really proud to come from dirt as described from the bible?

I would rather be an intelligent ape, then a piece of magic dirt

It shows that they believe desire has an effect on reality.

"I prefer X over Y. Therefore, X must be true while Y must be false."

Actually a lot of ppl are open minded about evolution just not completely, like if it really is true, then I believe it was part od Gods plan anyway. And I wont know if its true unless I go and do the research for myself cause dont believe much of anything anyone says anymore. Science is always being corrected, nothing is absolute.

I have never even thought of what athiests are proud of and have never heard anyone say that athiests are proud to be descendents of apes. Animals are amazing, like that genious parrot Alex, not to mention the dolphins that tried to save the surfer from a shark attack in Monterrey Bay.

Scoffing at peoples beliefs is just going to make them defend them even harder which must be it because athiests do love to argue. But as a Christian surrounded be Christians, I have never heard any one say anything you just said, we dont really discuss atheism much, we try to focus on bettering the world we talk about what God says, not you or some scientist.

>>Why do you think it is a matter of being proud?, its a matter of >>acknowledging what actually happened.

Is it really? When has this ever been demonstrated?

Evolution is a theory full of conflict. The only thing evolutionists in general agree upon is evolution itself, and they have never demonstrated that it occurred or that it is even possible. They accept, on "faith" one might say, that it happened, and then they go out looking for ways to support that claim. They do claim to have accomplished certain things under laboratory conditions, but such experiments with existing life cannot tell us how life actually came about, to say nothing of the fact that tests conducted under laboratory conditions involve intelligent manipulation and isolate the organisms/substances being tested from natural environmental conditions and hazards. You cannot employ such deliberate, selective methods and hope to establish that similar results could be achieved in a totally random, natural environment, as evolution demands.

Adding to that is the fact that spontaneous generation: the rise of life from non-living material, has never been observed, and has never been demonstrated as even being possible. Observation teaches us that life begets life. I believe no reputable scientist would even suppose such an idea if it were not for the fact that evolution demands that it must have occurred at some point; and that simple fact demonstrates to me that they are in search of evidence with which to substantiate their theory, rather than forming a theory based on the evidence. Incidentally, this is the very thing they accuse creationists of.

As for pride, that has nothing to do with the validity of either school of belief.

In my opinion both sides need to study evolution more. Evolution does not and never has stated that we come from monkeys, or that monkeys can just give birth to a human, or any other misconceptions I hear flying around on here. Evolution is nothing more that a process for survival in a changing world. It doesn't deal with origin of life - that's a microbiology field.

Honestly, when I studied evolution in college it repaired a lot of misconceptions I had myself, and I found nothing to conflict with my spiritual views. It actually fits very nicely into most religious traditions, unless you insist on being hard-headed about interpretations. Remember, the bible was written 2000 years ago in terms that people then could understand. It doesn't have to invalidate the Genesis story unless you let it.

i am christian and i do not believe in evolution because if we did evolve from apes then there would be no apes left. and i dont say that atheists are proud or anything.. i realize that there are many religions and i accept them. i was raised in a christian family therefor i am christian. but you can believe whatever you want.. i am not going to say one is right and one is wrong because how can you know for sure?

And i have a question for you. why does everyone stereotype about all religions?

I was made from dirt, but I came from God. I'd rather be even remotely associated with Him than directly related to an ape. We were made from dirt, but it's a wonderfully profound analogy to how small and insignificant we are compared to God and how insignificant we feel when we consider the universe. Notice that God took the time to carefully shape each of us, to have our own personalities, to be different, and to have a beautiful and wonderful form, made in His own image. Do apes have that? I think not.

Would you rather be the result of a random happening unexplained by everyone or a planned event lovingly created by God? Answer this?

There is no proof.Simple. Evolution is a theory. Christians are free to believe what they wish.

Evolution: Modern man has been around for 200,000 years.
Evidence: No writing samples before 6,000 years.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/334517.stm

So modern man (homo sapiens) lived as hunter gatherers for 194,000 years, then suddenly in 6,000 years developed agriculture, thousands of languages and writing systems, computers, airplanes, space travel and walked on the moon? I have a hard time believing modern man lived 194 milleniums with no improvement, then all of a sudden, because of agricultural pursuits could do everything. It is just not logical or probable.

I don't care that I came from dirt. I am proud to have been CREATED. it's kinda wierd how you think you evolved from a monkey, who evolved from a fish, who evolved from one little cell, that came out of nowhere???? hmmmm.....ok....I'm going to sit here at the computer and suddenly nothing will blow up and turn into a perfect computer.....or....I could CREATE a computer. that sounds more logical than nothing turning into something....right?

There's no proof we can from apes you chose to put your faith in that. God forming mankind and blowing the very breathe of life into us yes is a love story, incredible and awesome and I have faith in that. The evolution "theory" (not fact) is just as far out as you said God creating us is and the thing is........God did create us. If you don't want to know him while you are on earth and choose to wait until you meet him to see he is real that's your choice but I feel bad for you.

Because GOD created us. The dirt didn't. I'm proud to have come from God. And evolution didn't actually happen. It's never been proved. Why do you think there are so many hoaxes in evolution? Because people know it's not true so they try to cover for that and make it seem real. The Bible has never been proved wrong.
