Auto finance is what I do for a living and you need to go to a dealer that advertises Special Finance and talk to the Manager, they will be able to help you.

There are lot's of lenders out there that will give you a chance.

Do not go to a "Buy here pay here" place over 90% of them do not report to the credit bureaus so all the money you pay to them will not help your credit a bit.

You CAN get a decent car loan, even with bad credit. I've done it, but you'll have to look around. That's one of the BIG mistakes people make...just taking the first offer that's given to them when they go to the dealer. Be smarter than that.

WARNING: DON'T GO TO BUY A CAR WITHOUT HAVING THE LOAN FIRST. The auto dealers will eat you alive and give you a crappy rate. Shop around with lenders who specialize in bad credit car loans. It's a better option, you don't have to take what they're offering if you don't want it, and it's better than dealing with the car dealer's people.

There are usually some nationally based car loan companies who specialize in bad credit car loans who advertise on the page linked below...

ah I've been there---a LOT of dealers will give ALMOST ANYONE credit to buy a car... thing is with bad credit, you will be paying the MAXIMUM amount for your car....you MIGHT be better off going to one of those BUY HERE PAY HERE roadside dealers ---although I don't always recommend it---they will take anyone regardless of credit but you pay BIG time for a car that was purchased as an AUCTION and might have had minor repair work done on it prior to the sale...but, it IS a way to get a car.....be prepared to pluck down a goodly amount for a deposit no matter HOW you get a car...

You'll be approved and a dealership in your area will call you to come and you can take it from there. Good luck!

I have terrible credit and have gotten 3 loans from Drive Time and I live in Florida. They have great cars too, not pieces of crap.

In many cities in the USA, there are areas where one can get a "good running," car for not much money. Ask your friends and relatives if they know of an area like that where you live.

There are many creditors in the market who prey on unhealthy or dicy credit score. The worst through a ways is AmeriCredit. the curiosity charges are as prime as 23%, and also you pay extra on curiosity than you pay for the vehicle.
