I am not a theist, so I am not looking for the "lawl, theres no god" answer to this question. Moreso:

If Timmy were to go to heaven, and Jane was to go to hell, and Timmy was deeply, DEEPLY in love with Jane, wouldn't heaven be eternal punishment to him too?

Jane couldn't be in heaven AND hell, for 1) Beings can't exist in 2 places at once AND because if there were 2 of her created, how would it be decided which went to heaven? AND if this "2nd Jane" did somehow be in heaven, it wouldn't be the real Jane for the real Jane wouldn't deserve heaven.

So Timmy wants NOTHING more in the entire after life to spend time with Jane, and that's the one thing he can't do. Is that not eternal suffering in Heaven?

Ok, the most common Christian response is:
Your forget everything when you go to heaven.

What if you don't want to forget everything? What kind of place is heaven if it doesn't have your memories? What if your memories are the happiest things you have? What if you loved your dog, but dogs don't have souls and can't go to heaven, and all you have is your memory of him?

Not to mention, what's so good about heaven? Eternal happiness? WHat if you love animals and plants and everything? According to Christians they have no souls, therefore cannot go to heaven, therefore all Heaven is would be other people, and how happy would that make you for all eternity?

To he who said if you don't love god above all others, you shouldn't be in heaven anyway: Bullshit. You're saying the true love of your life should be the step under god? If THAT'S heaven, then I don't see what the hype's about.

ladybird: thanks for providing a nice example of the bible contradicting itself. Everyone else used biblical quotes to answer the question their way, then you used it to answer your way.

According to Christians, Timmy would simply forget about his beloved Jane upon entrance into heaven. Can't have damned loves being a killjoy while you're all happy in heaven, after all.

The idea of heaven steadily continues to sound more like a hell to me...

Well to be honest I can not answer for the Christian heaven because I am not a Christian. I personally believe in reincarnation and that each life is a lesson that we must learn. True loves usually end up finding eachother in their reincarnated forms, True friends as well. This is what I believe happens when you meet someone for the first time and you already feel like you have known them forever and are completely comfortable with them. At some point the person will learn the lessons set out for them and move on to the summerlands. In my opinion the summerlands is a place where we stop in between lifes (sort of like a intermission in a really long movie or play) and also a place that once we learn all of the lessons we end at. A place of peace and happiness where eventually your loved ones will be and until you and your loved ones learn all the lessons there is always the chance of running into them in between lifes. ok now im babbling and i will stop now im sorry. I dont believe there is a such thing as Hell therefore this situation would never occur.

Timmy won't remember Jane in Heaven. The Bible tells us that the former things pass away. If you go to heaven, and someone else you know goes to heaven, then you will know them in heaven, but won't have the same relationship with them. There will be no need for that. And there is no pain and torture in heaven for any reason, so Timmy couldn't remember Jane, and miss her. But, if Jane is in Hell, then she probably could remember Timmy, and be sorry for all eternity that she didn't go to heaven with him. Hell is punishment. Heaven is not!

From analyzing many books written via the saints and analyzing what Jesus stated and Peter, no person is going to Hell in uncomplicated terms people who refuse the Mercy provided to all via God. this is why Jesus stated there'll be no forgiveness in this lifestyles or the subsequent if all people blasphemes the Holy Spirit! yet all different sin would be forgiven. St Faustina(between the 20 th century Saints) became informed via Jesus that no remember the sin no remember how undesirable the guy is that in the event that they arrive to his representative(priest) and repent, he will are available the present day and supply grace to that guy or woman to know and stay in faith. Why wait while there is in uncomplicated terms one uncomplicated ingredient to do. And for all people who seek for information it is the information waiting for an act of humility, to nicely known your guilt, and be healed via Christ. yet what number will do it? Purgatory is a real place as we can locate out.

Being in heaven means being with God forever. Even though Jane is not there, Timmy would not dwell on that fact because there is no pain or sadness in heaven.

I would say that both Timmy and Jane need to forget what will happen when they die and enjoy what they have together while they are on earth!

If there is an after life, that is what it will be, a life after this life. I personally chose to live one life at a time.

The Bible says that there is nothing on earth that can compare to heaven in manners of beauty and pleasure. If one was in Hell, and they have a true view of Hell as Christ taught that person would beg the other person not to go there,

Somehow, we have to have faith that God will fulfill our desires if they are in accordance with His will. Psalms 145:16 - Psalms 37:4 - Hebrews 11:6.

That's a good question. If I got to heaven and my husband wasn't allowed in for some stupid reason, than I guess I would go with my husband to hell. If god is that unforgiving that the prayers of others don't count, I don't want any part of it.
