Jehovah's Witnesses do happen to believe that Michael is Jesus, but the idea is hardly central to their faith.
It is just that a child can recognize what the bible says about the idea...
Is not Jesus Christ the primary "Seed" who defeats Satan? The Millennial Rule begins with Satan's abyssing, performed by Christ Jesus, and no mere subsidiary. Thus, when Revelation 12:7-9 tells us that "Michael" performs this work, Jehovah's Witnesses are convinced that "Michael" is simply another name for Jesus, just as "Immanuel", "Sprout", "David", and "The Word" are additional names of Jesus (see Matt 1:23 ["Immanuel"]; Zech 6:12 ["Sprout", "Branch", or "Shoot"]; Ezek 37:24,25 ["David"]; Rev 19:13 ["The Word of God"]).
(Genesis 3:15) He [the Seed of God's woman] will bruise you [the original serpent Satan] in the head
(Revelation 12:7-9) Michael and his angels battled with the dragon... So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan
(Revelation 20:1-3) And I saw an angel... And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. And he hurled him into the abyss
(Revelation 20:6-7) Rule as kings with [Christ] for the thousand years.
Almost comically, the same trinitarians who insist that Jesus cannot have another name are the same persons who pretend that Jesus is also called Jehovah.
While anti-Witnesses pretend that Jehovah's Witnesses rely upon one Scripture for the belief that Jesus is the archangel Michael, that passage (1 Thes 4:14-16) is simply the easiest, most concise demonstration of the fact.
...(1 Thessalonians 4:14-16) Jesus died and rose again, so, too... the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel's voice

What? Is that the verse they get it from?
I've heard that the Mormons believe that Jesus was the angel Elohim. I don't know how that would play into their logic, though, because that would still make him the creator.
Edit:
OK, I came back because I was curious, and read Tick of t's answer. So, now it looks to me like it's all based in speculation like so many of the JW beliefs are i.e. they don't celebrate birthdays because Belshazzar was killed on his.
So they assume that the voice in I Thes 4:16 was Jesus' voice, and not that of a second being. I'm not sure that I understand what he was saying about Daniel, but the best I get was that because Michael stood up, that made him a king?

Scriptural evidence indicates that the name Michael applied to God's Son before he left heaven to become Jesus Christ AND ALSO after his return.
Archangel means "chief angel," or "principal angel" indicating that there is only one. Michael is the only one said to be "the archangel". Jude 9 says: "Michael THE archangel had a difference with the Devil and was disputing about Moses' body."
To illustrate that Micheal is another name for Jesus, at 1 Thessalonians 4:16 the voice of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ is described as being that of an "archangel", suggesting that he is, in fact, himself the archangel. If the designation "archangel" applied, not to Jesus Christ, but to other angels, then the reference to "an archangel's voice" would not be appropriate. In that case it would be describing a voice of lesser authority than that of the Son of God.
Also, Daniel, after making the first reference to Michael (Da 10:13), recorded a prophecy reaching down to "the time of the end" (Da 11:40) and then stated: "And during that time Michael will stand up, the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of [Daniel's] people." (Da 12:1) Michael's `standing up' was to be associated with "a time of distress such as has not been made to occur since there came to be a nation until that time." (Da 12:1) In Daniel's prophecy, `standing up' frequently refers to the action of a king, either taking up his royal power or acting effectively in his capacity as king. (Da 11:2-4, 7, 16b, 20, 21) This supports the conclusion that Michael is Jesus Christ, since Jesus is Jehovah's appointed King, commissioned to destroy all the nations at Har–Magedon.—Re 11:15; 16:14-16.
Also, the book of Revelation (12:7, 10, 12) specifically mentions Michael in connection with the establishment of God's Kingdom and links this event with trouble for the earth. Since the Son of God (Jesus) is to fight the nations, it is only reasonable that he was the one (also known as Michael) who with his angels earlier battled against the superhuman dragon, Satan the Devil, and his angels.

No. The Bible says no such thing anywhere. What it does say, in 2 Corinthians 11: 3, 4, is that if anyone preaches another Jesus other than the one preached by the apostles, they should not be heeded because their message is from another spirit and is a lie of Satan, according to verse 3. The passage also mentions anyone who preaches another gospel. Since the Bible's message is a gospel of grace, then anyone who preaches a gospel of works also qualifies to be disregarded, according to the Apostle Paul.
Apostle Paul is also emphatic when he asked rhetorically, "to which angel did God ever call Son?"

Witness will try to make Jesus = Michael, however there is not a single verse in all of scripture to back their claim.
The verses some JWs use here, unfortunately do not back their claim. Their error is reading into the passage.
Remember Witnesses do not accurately understand what the trinitarians really believe. They see the trinity as modalistic which it is not.

I don't understand why we have to prove he is Michael all the time. Let them prove he is not. All these people criticize our beliefs but never give any scriptures that prove we are wrong.

The voice of "an archangel" will announce the rapture of the church along with the sound of a trumpet. Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, will appear in the sky. The dead who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior will break forth out of their graves to meet Jesus in the air. After that, those who are alive and have accepted Jesus as their Savior will be caught up into the air. This will happen "in the twinkling of an eye."
Jesus is not the archangel, however, Jesus is God in the flesh. The Bible teaches us that God became a human being and dwelt upon this earth. This God-Man is Jesus. The Spirit of Jesus is the Holy Spirit, and he is also God. Three forms of One God.
The JW's are a cult!!!!!!! Stay away from them!!!!

THE BIBLE describe a powerful angel that match in every single detail with Jesus, WHY?
REVELATION 10:1 "And I saw another strong angel descending from heaven, arrayed with a cloud, and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as the sun, and his feet were as fiery pillars, 2 and he had in his hand a little scroll opened. And he set his right foot upon the sea, but his left one upon the earth, 3 and he cried out with a loud voice just as when a lion roars. And when he cried out, the seven thunders uttered their own voices.
"And I saw another strong angel" compare that with Daniel 10:21, Judas 9 and Revelation 12:7.
"descending from heaven, arrayed with a cloud" compare it with Daniel 7:13 and Revelation 1:7
"and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as the sun" compare it with Malachi 4:2 and Matthew 17:2
"and his feet were as fiery pillars" compare with Revelation 1:7
and he had in his hand a little scroll opened. And he set his right foot upon the sea, but his left one upon the earth" compare with Hebrew 2:8.
"and he cried out with a loud voice just as when a lion roars" compare it with Proverbs 20:2 and Revelation 5:5.

16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
The person shouting is the Lord Himself, not an accompanying angel.
It also says with the trumpet of God, only proves that the trumpet belongs to God. Not that the trumpet is also Jesus'.
Everything Jesus taught and said was his Father's.
and not his own.
This is why Jesus is also called the Word, or God's spokesman.
edit ------
Who is the Jesus the apostles taught about?
Please note that the context “of” is the same as “his God and Father”.
Please note that the context always makes the God and Father separate from Lord Jesus.
(John 17:3) 3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.
(Romans 15:5-6) 5 Now may the God who supplies endurance and comfort grant YOU to have among yourselves the same mental attitude that Christ Jesus had, 6 that with one accord YOU may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Corinthians 15:24) 24 Next, the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power.
(2 Corinthians 1:3) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort,
(2 Corinthians 11:31) 31 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, even the One who is to be praised forever, knows I am not lying.
(Galatians 1:3-5) 3 May YOU have undeserved kindness and peace from God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ. 4 He gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from the present wicked system of things according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
(Ephesians 1:3) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for he has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in union with Christ,
(Ephesians 1:17) 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give YOU a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the accurate knowledge of him;
(Ephesians 4:6) 6 one God and Father of all [persons], who is over all and through all and in all.
(Ephesians 5:20) 20 in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ giving thanks always for all things to our God and Father.
(Philippians 4:20) 20 Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
(1 Thessalonians 1:3-4) 3 for we bear incessantly in mind YOUR faithful work and [your] loving labor and [your] endurance due to [your] hope in our Lord Jesus Christ before our God and Father. 4 For we know, brothers loved by God, his choosing of YOU,
(1 Thessalonians 3:11-13) 11 Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus direct our way prosperously to YOU. 12 Moreover, may the Lord cause YOU to increase, yes, make YOU abound, in love to one another and to all, even as we also do to YOU; 13 to the end that he may make YOUR hearts firm, unblamable in holiness before our God and Father at the presence of our Lord Jesus with all his holy ones.
(James 1:27) 27 The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation, and to keep oneself without spot from the world.
(1 Peter 1:3-4) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for according to his great mercy he gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an incorruptible and undefiled and unfading inheritance. It is reserved in the heavens for YOU,
(Revelation 1:5-6) 1 A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place. And he sent forth his angel and presented [it] in signs through him to his slave John, 5 . . .To him that loves us and that loosed us from our sins by means of his own blood— 6 and he made us to be a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—yes, to him be the glory and the might forever. Amen.
