my husband bought a used car, had it 2 months the transmission blew yesterday, it has 125K miles on it
can we trade it in with a bad transmissoin?? we can't afford $2500 to fix it.
p.s. it's a 2001 or 2002 Acura. no warranty didn't get it from a dealership

I would agree the 2500 sounds high to me as well. I would do what you can to get the car fixed. A 2002 Acura with 125,000 miles is not a bad car at all. Remember, it's a Honda and with good maintenance can go forever.

for a pro to put in a new or very good rebuilt will be around 2g to 2500. if ya trade the dealer will obviously find the tranny is bad before you trade so you wont get much if anyhting for the car

the fact that it stopped getting in opposite in a clean sign that the transmission is blown, sorry :/, its strange although for a honda that youthful to have a blown transmission, have been you heavy with the seize? if no longer the eb cable interior the seize must be broken. wish this helped

You could, but you wouldn't get anything for it. You could also sell it to someone who wants it to fix up or for parts. Just curious...is it a stick or automatic? $2500 sounds a little high. Did you get more than one estimate?
