Hard to believe that (with all the stories here about ticket happy cops) cops wouldn't do anything.
Keep calling them. Try to make the acquaintance of a cop with jurisdiction and help him/her find the expired tags.

They will continue to get away with it until they get caught. The police probably won't come to give them a ticket. They have to get caught while driving. Why would you be so concerned about somebody else's things? Perhaps they can't afford to take care of it right now. If you really want them busted for this just call the car in as abandoned. The police will show up to address this. Just remember, karma is a mofo.

First it is uncertain it desires a clean computing device if it runs. definite it is unlawful to apply plates from one vehicle on yet another. The degree of penalty will variety by ability of state. First end telling human beings once you do stuff like that! some human beings only want to make problem and somebody who would not such as you could locate out and turn you in. you could no longer try this for the main reason that this is probable to easily dig you into yet another massive hollow. If something happens on certainly one of those short journeys that leads to a police analyze, you ought to wind up in courtroom, your insurance organization ought to furnish you a tough time paying besides as drop you etc. this is a lot greater suitable to attempt to locate somebody you have faith to troubleshoot your vehicle concern. i could wager there's a sturdy danger you have a $15 undesirable O2 sensor. Does your vehicle stumble some situations? get undesirable gas mileage some situations? generally an person-friendly O2 sensor concern. whilst an O2 sensor starts off getting flakey each so often it is going to reason different aspects to attempt to compensate (giving it a richer gas mixture case in point whilst it incredibly would not want it, however the computing device thinks it does because of fact the O2 sensor suggested so). this could in turn reason another sensor to react in a manor it won't etc. etc. and your vehicle won't bypass emissions. do no longer in basic terms bypass to a working laptop or computing device lube music place until they're common for easily troubleshooting issues. Ask around at artwork if every physique knows an "old fashoned" mechanic. The would not recommend an old guy or woman, there are a number of youngsters who understand a thank you to do the job top in the event that they have been knowledgeable by ability of the impressive human beings. another concern. some states have a rule that in case you flunk the attempt and the fee to repair is only too severe they grants you an exemption in case you could teach problem. this could be nicely worth investigating, yet you will nonetheless would desire to pay somebody to furnish you a report displaying you will would desire to spend greater effective than $six hundred or perhaps if this is on your state in the event that they have this coverage. good success and stay out of problem!

Not to sound mean but why are you minding someone else's business, not that there is an excuse to having expired plates, and you are paying taxes and they are not but for some people they just can not afford to take care of what some people think are the simple things in life, and just reporting someone is not the answer they have to get caught in the act. Be care-full what you do because it can comeback on you

..I saw someone parked in my parking lot at home, with tags on their plates from 1996...
I almost cried. But I was more pissed than anything. I wanted to call the cops but I figure I won't worry about it until I am a cop.

If the police pull over the vehicle for another traffic violation (speed limit, traffic light, stop sign, etc.), then they might issue a ticket for both things at once.

Um. They must be pretty sneaky.
Because there is pretty much no way that they can get away with that for two WHOLE YEARS!
They can get a big fine for that,
they need to change it ASAP.

If you live in a big city, where the police are busy and stretched thin, they won't care about the expired plates.
