The job of Combat Medic is a very intense job. I would stay with school and find a recruiter when you are 18. In the mean time, for those who think that Combat Medics don't fight, that is a line of BS. If attacked, the medic is a soldier. Therefore, you must qualify on your weapon every year and be prepared to join the battle at any time. As a Combat medic, I know first hand that this is not a job for the weak. Being able to save or at least sustain life until you get to a combat support hospital or aid station while under fire is no walk in the park. Trust me, the time may come where you,as the medic, must join the fire fight.

1: it's harder to get into a branch after serving in another branch than it is to initially enlist. Navy might not be taking prior service when you want to switch. 2: depends On where you end up. If u end up at a hospital you'll change bed pans 9-5 then have the rest of the time off. If you go to the line you'll be in the field and deployed a lot. 3: who cares about boot/basic? It's a few weeks of a 4 year career. 4: choose which one you want to be in mor 5: depends on how long the wait list is. Navy also = hospital on land, not just ship 6: not really

Stay in School. From the looks of things, you need to concentrate more on your grammer. Good at fighting, does not make you a good soldier, do think that's going to give you good points.
You have a lot to learn, kiddo. It's nice to have dreams, but you're only 12. You're friend don't know jack about combat medics. They form their opinions of combat from playing Halo 24/7.
Comabt medic is a honorable job. Who's going to help your buddy when he gets hit? The medic. You's going to save lives? the medic.

A combat medic is a trained soldier who is responsible for providing first aid and frontline trauma care on the battlefield. Also responsible for providing continuing medical care in the absence of a readily available physician, including care for disease and non battle injury. Combat medics are normally co-located with the combat troops they serve in order to easily move with the troops and monitor ongoing health.
For many years, most medics have carried at least a side arm like the handgun and knife (and now, frequently a rifle, carbine or submachine gun), to be used as a defensive weapon. Medical personnel may be armed, but may only use their weapons to protect themselves or the wounded and sick in their care. If they use their arms offensively (i.e. attacking or assaulting), or carry arms that qualify as offensive (such as a sniper rifle, machine gun or grenade launcher), they then sacrifice their protection under the Geneva Conventions. Generally, a medic holding his/her weapon is considered to be an armed, military threat. According to the Geneva Convention, knowingly firing at a medic wearing clear insignia is a war crime.
If it weren't for the brave Combat Medics that I served with, alot of my comrades would not be alive.
Check here for some neat facts.

You don't know what you're getting yourself into. War is not what you see in the movies, it's truly hell. If you want to be a medic, it's not as bad but you still see some horrific things, and you have the pressure of the wounded guy's life being in your hands. And if you do join once you're old enough, and you're shipped out there, there's no turning back. you're either going back when the war ends, with a wound, or in a casket. Anyway, the war in Iraq'll probably be over by the time you're old enough to join and finish training and everything.

Combat medics play a vital role in combat not only do they have to fight they have to revive and resuscitate there fellow comrades. Medics are just as gungho as any other infantryman. That's pretty impressive 12 and already thinkin about the military

Sorry kid,Come back in 6 years and tell us what you want to do, you will probably change your mind 1 million times, between now and then, at 12 you are to young to really define what you want to do.
There is no nobler sentiment than wanting to help your wounded brothers off the field of conflict at the risk of your own life, but remember you will have to help the enemy wounded as well, to a medic all life is sacred, but you might have to take a life to protect yourself from an enemy who does not repect the symbol of the red cross.

You wanted to kill someone when you where six? Jeez. Anyways, listen, kid; you're twelve, ok? I don't know how you are good "at fighting" and what "med. lab" you are talking about but don't think joining the Military is what you see on the movies; where, of course, you just run around as bullets are flying around you, artillery coming down on you and you assassinate Osama in the same minute.

you are TWELVE. you will change your mind no less than a dozen times between now and when you graduate High School.
Stay in school, take all the math and Science you can, do not drink, smoke, have sex or do drugs. if, when you finish High School, you still want to enlist, then come back. Hopefully with better grammar and punctuation skills.
