Illegals come here to work. Most of them have homes in their own country. They send money home to help support their families there.
American employers who set up factories in developing countries pay very low wages there. If you lived in Mexico and Central America would you work in a sweat shop for $5.00 a day, or would try to come here and make 10 to 20 times as much?
Illegal employers here in the US is a different thing. They hire illegals. They do not pay them comparative wages. They do not offer any health and other fringe benefits. And, they do not pay into social security and state and federal taxes.
Who are the biggest thieves here? An employer who hires an illegal benefit from the welfare system as much as any other American born dead-beat. When an illegal gets sick or injured on the job who pays? When an illegal cannot support his American born children who contributes to food stamps and housing subsidies?
The answer is that we, the American taxpayers, subsidize an illegal employer's profits.
If there were no jobs here for illegals, and if American companies would pay better wages overseas there would be far less of them coming here to work.

I believe that illegal immigration has become one of the biggest threats to our way of life. The continuous influx of aliens to our country has slowly changed where and how we live, work and conduct business.
English, the glue that has always bonded us as a nation, is now like an after thought to some. Neighborhoods have signs in Spanish popping up all over while we are now having to 'press one' just to be able to hear or speak to someone in English! We are slowly coming unglued with each and every Spanish translation provided to these ALIENS.
Jobs that were once a certainty to some entering the work force for the first time are now taken by aliens. Have you been to a McDonalds lately? What used to be a great first job for teens is now taken over by people who can barely speak OUR language! Just try to get a simple order taken and see how many times you need to repeat it only to receive something completely different from what you said!!! This is just one little example. So many other jobs have fallen out of our hands and into the cheap labor hands of illegals. Rather than pay fellow Americans a decent wage to live and raise their families on, our greedy businesses would rather hire illegals who will work cheap so that they can make a bigger profit. Is profit all these business people care about anymore? What happened to caring about people? A country is only as strong as its people. I'm afraid that our country's people are being weakened more and more everday with lost jobs and wages.
I could go on forever... I'm that disgusted by what I see around me and by the misguided priorities of those we elected to represent us. I don't know about you but I am definately NOT being represented!

I believe the U.S. / mexican border would be much more effective with 2 words...Sniper Towers. The number of illegals crossing would drop dramatically. The overall risk to cross the border illegally would be enormous. A clear message would be given in the process. Actions speak louder than words. Cross illegally and you may die. I know that this will probably never happen but it would definitely send a message loud and clear. Militarize the border!

The immigration is really very interesting. In the past when some countries, especially in America, needed people, the immigrants were welcomed.
But now these same people that in the past worked to develop the American countries no more are welcomed. Now they are classified as "illegal immigrants".
As you can see the illegal immigration is only a point of view of the nations.
I live in Brazil and my grand parents were Italians.

IS ILLEGAL, BUT THOSE PEOPLE WHO COME HERE THEY SHOULD GET THEIRS PAPERS BEFORE COMING. IF THEY DONT LIKE THEIR SALARIES, OR JOBS TOO BAD, NOBODY TOLD THEM TO IMMIGRATE WITHOUT PAPERS. THEY AFFECT THIS COUNTRY;S ECONOMY AND WAY OF LIVING OF PEOPLE. ITS NOT FAIR, THAT WE HAVE TO PAY TAXES, AND THEY DONT. THEN THEY PROTEST ABOUT THEIR RIGHTS, AND FIRST OF ALL WHO TOLD THEM TO COME ILLEGALLY.

I think of illegal immigration the same way I think about the scum who break into a home and steal form it. Only these criminals should not be sponging off our prison system either. They must be caught and sent back where they came from.

all of you who say illegals are here to work are not seeing everything.
There are pictures of illegals during their walks down thru main street in cali holding signs saying "We are taking our land back"
They don't want to be American, They don't care about our laws. They want our handouts and then kill our innocents cus drinking and driving in Mexico is a right of passage or something stupid like that so they do it here.
Sorry I hate illegal immigration and I feel bad for every family who lost a loved one because of an illegal killed them.
I feel bad for any American who lost a job because illegals took it for less wages.
I left Arizona because it went from a nice looking place to trash. Couldn't walk anywhere and not feel like you were in a poor Mexico town.
Think about this....
If they really want to be American WTF do they trash our country, burn our flags, laugh at our laws and then demand crap from us, fly their flags and want us to learn spanish in our chools and make our children suffer. seriously think about it.
anyone who really wants to be American and comes here has no problems learning our culture, learning english and obeying our laws.
All this amnesty crap is a slap in the face of ever LEGAL immigrant.
show no illegals mercy!

I am opposed to illegal immigration. We have laws that should be obeyed and upheld. The consequences of breaking our laws have no bearing. Illegal is illegal.

If "any" one wants to come here, they need to do it legally! And for the people that comment on this subject and are not Americans.....mind your business! I don not think it is fair they don't have to pay taxes and get free health care ect.... Plenty of Americans work and struggle and still pay taxes and many don't have health coverage at all!
