she has just come out of a heat cycle, and ive noticed they are more swollen than normal.

She's either pregnant or developing a false pregnancy.
She may get milk,and will want to "nurse" toys,shoes,and other items.She'll become very maternal.You should make an appointment to have her spayed now,because if that's what she has,she'll probably have one after every heat,and dogs who have false pregnancies are more prone to developing pyometra,which is a very serious,life-threatening uterine infection ( the uterus basically fills with pus.) A pyometra is almost always treated with emergency spay surgery in addition to antibiotics,and it's a much more expensive and dangerous surgery than a regular spay.

My shih tzus nipples were larger then usual after her first heat cycle, but i knew for a fact she wasn't bred and its been way to long now for it to have been that anyway, i think its just a hormonal thing with some of them, of course I'm just guessing if there is ANY chance a male could have gotten to her you might want to have her checked.

If you let her outside unsupervised, its possible her being in heat attrated a male to your yard and now shes pregnant.
