So if you can't afford the stud fee I guess you also can't afford:
-The health certification (like OFA and CERF) that your b*tch should have before being bred.
-The brucelosis test that and reputable stud owner will require to protect their dog from an STD.
-An emergency visit to the vet if your b*tch should have problems.
-Large amounts of quality food for growing puppies and nursing mom.
-Vet bills if the pups get sick or injured or have other problems.
-Deworming, vaccination and vet checks for the litter.
Perhaps you should rethink this.....

If your dog were breeding quality, you would not need to ask on YA.
People (reputable breeders who breed to maintain and improve breed standards) would be lining up to have their male stud your dog.
Look on petfinder.com for Rotties. You will see there is no shortage of pure bred Rotties in shelters who will be killed if they don't find homes.
Have your dog spayed. Don't be part of the problem/

What's so special about your dog that she should be bred from?
I'm not doubting you love her, nor do I doubt she makes a great pet - but so would the thousands destroyed each day in pounds. All I'm asking is what makes your dog so much better than the ones being destroyed every day?
If you can convince people that you know what you're doing, and you're not just creating dogs to be destroyed, you might get more help.
BTW - rottweilers in rescue are VERY difficult to rehome. Chances are they'll not be adopted once they've been given up. Think before breeding.

thats all you want in a stud?
how about health records, and health tests?how about behavior and if he dog is trained? how about a show dog that has won something?
Why not ask the breeder you got your rottie from ?oh right you didint get her from a breeder.
Educate yourself before bringing more dogs into the world.Breeding isnt baout money.

why can you not afford a stud fee?
if that's the case then your going to be in for a shock around the birth and weaning!!!
what if she needs a c-section?
or you need to hand rear the pups, then theres worming vaccinations etc
the stud fee is the least of your worries
don't tout for business for your dog on here
this is a question and answer site
If your dog is so fantastic people would be contacting you, not the other way round

There are literally hundreds of dogs in shelters and pounds because someone wanted to breed their dog. Please, do not breed yours and add to the overpopulation in the shelters.
Breeding dogs is a science, and bad breeding creates a lot of problems. Good breeding isn't much better, as puppies are hard to place in homes, end up in shelters or on the streets, and thousands are killed daily across the globe.
Have your dog spayed and enjoy her as a pet and loving member of the family.

Please don't breed your dog. It is not a money-making-machine. They are animals, and will need lots of loving care and good homes. Did you know that most rottweilers who end up in shelters do not get adopted; they are killed? Go to a shelter and see how many dogs are there (yes, even purebreeds are there) and realize you don't need to contribute to the overpopulation problem.

What about requiring the stud have genetic and health testing to make sure it doesn't have hip issues, heart issues, etc. Oh - wait you would have to PAY for the dam to have the same testing and she would need to be more than 2 years old.
Potential dog owners - please look here to determine how to NOT buy a dog from a bad breeder!

I'm going with Lisa on this one... if your dog was worthy of being bred, you'd be able to find a stud, no problem, since people at the dog shows you show your dam at (right, since you ARE showing her?) would seek you out.

you can look on the Internet there are sites that advertise studs, but check out your local dog clubs, (yellow pages).and meet the the dog and check its temperament, most owners will agree to a best of litter, or cost of a pup, but check what they charge for a mating with the cost of the pup, the kennel club should be one place to check, and you will find all the studs registered with them in the rottie breed supplement they publish, along with names of their parents and breeders
