My friend gets really bad hangovers when she drinks, is there anything she can drink and she won't get ...or will get a hangover that isn't as bad?

Hangovers are in part caused by dehydration and low blood sugar. Those can be controlled by drinking plenty of water before during and after drinking alcohol, and not drinking high-sugar alcoholic drinks.

Replenishing lost fluids and electrolytes is very important to curing a hangover, so gatorade can do that.

When I was drinking a lot, I would drink a spicy hot v8 juice in the morning.

I rarely drink now. That is the best way to avoid a hangover.

I'm with at5.

1. Make sure you have a good meal before you start drinking, i.e. if you know your going out on Friday night, eat a good lunch. Not talking salad here.

2. Never ever drink sweet drinks or drinks with cream, unless your really just having one and won't be drinking anything else alcoholic.

3. Worst hangovers come from beer or wine. The two worst hangovers I've ever had came from beer.

4. Stick to clear liquor, no brown liquor.

5. Don't mix liquors. If you start with vodka, stay with vodka. Mixing wine with liquor is a recipe for disaster. The old saying goes - wine before liquor, never been sicker.

6. It's a trial and error thing, but there are some alcohols that just don't sit well with some people. For example, if my wife drinks gin - look out. Learn what things you need to stay away from.

7. Drink quality booze.

Really the best advice to avoid a hangover is not to drink. But if you are going to drink anyway, try drinking a glass of water between drinks, hangovers are caused from dehydration. Another thing that will help is taking two aspirins and and drinking a bottle of water before going to bed. Try limiting the time between drinks and drinking slower.

I've heard that taking a multivitamin and drinking lots of water are the best ways to cure hangovers, besides not drinking alcohol period. Also, she may want to stick to just one type of drink. Sometimes mixing drink types (beer, wine, liquor) gives people hangovers

Water. its the best thing for you. drink some before you sleep and you should feel fine. if you wake up with a hangover eat some dry toast and either more water or gatorade.

Water... lots of it.

The headaches from hangovers is often caused by the body feeling dehydrated (your body uses a lot of water to process & break down the alcohol that you consume).

Avoid any sweet drinks and make sure to drink lots of water. Beer is better than a rum & coke for sure. If she has to have a "sweet" drink just stay away from acidy drinks like vodka & oj that makes it worse too
