The Bible does describe a period of traumatic upheaval (the Flood – Genesis chapters 6-9) upon the earth during which time civilization was utterly destroyed and men were forced to start over. It is in this historical context that some scholars believe that men lived in caves and made use of stone tools. These men were not primitive; they were simply destitute. And they certainly weren't half ape. The fossil evidence is quite clear: cavemen were human (hence the term cave-"men," men who lived in caves).

no i don't deny.

really, there's like 2 ways of seeing this.
1: the people who lived in caves(yes, people lived in caves)
or 2: prehistoric human ancestors(i would assume you mean cro-magnum, since the neanderthals are apparently a different species(or something like that))

I sure hope not. Heck, there are cavemen in the Bible. David hid in a cave while Saul hunted for him. Daniel hung out in a cave overnight with some lions. Let's see...I'm sure there are more...

IN reading over some of the answers I find myself amused...

Nowhere in the theory of evolution does it say that Men evolved from apes. It DOES say that Men and apes have a common ancestor, just as Chihuahuas and Rottweilers have a common ancestor.

But of course the idiot in the pulpit could tell you the sky is orange and you'd go around thinking you've gone color-blind.

No, because I've actually seen them on TV. They make me feel like a teenager again. Makes me want to hang around the airport in case I see one.

They don't deny it; they simply believe that there were dinosaurs there as well.

According to the Bible, the cavemen would use the dinosaurs to take out their garbage, construct buildings, or even as a source of transportation.

It all depends on their interpretation of the bible, especially Genesis.

You see, apparently despite the fact their god is all-powerful and all-knowing, he has a problem with saying what it means!?

Some men have lived in caves within the last 6,000 years. Heck doesn't Osama live in a cave somewhere? The point is they aren't monkey-men, they're just men. Anyone who still believes in monkey-men seriously needs to grow up and develop a sense of discernment so they can tell fact from fantasy.
