And since an Atheist does not believe in GOD or Spiritual Afterlife why would he have a Spiritual NDE?
The British philosopher Sir AJ ‘Freddie’ Ayer (1910-89) was a confirmed atheist. When the writer Somerset Maugham, another confirmed atheist, was on his deathbed, he summoned Ayer to reassure him that there was absolutely no likelilood of an afterlife, a service Sir Freddie was happy to provide. He said he had seen a tunnel covered by a great grid, with a red glow at the end, whose light was comforting but painful. He understood that the light was responsible for the government of the universe. After travelling towards the light he met two guardians of the universe, who were the ministers in charge of space, who invited him to help them map out the geometry of space and time-Apart from the aside about his Classical education, Ayer’s views bear a remakable similarity to those expressed by the prophet Ezekiel in the Bible.

A hallucination. During the shutting down process of the brain is not the best time to get information about reality.

roflmao... haven't you learned yet that you see what you expect to see? The Christians see some form of god or angels, the Pagans often see a place of beauty (often called the Summerland by followers) where everyone goes, those that believe in some form of spirit world see a spirit world of some sort, and those that think there's nothing see nothing.

Use your brain and look for REAL patterns, not ones you're hoping for.

The reality is that its all in your head.

I had a dream once that this little non-sexed being led me down a tunnel to "see the Big Guy." Once I returned to consciousness, I assumed it was, well, a dream.

An Atheist will see what a Believer will see and that is what we all shall find out when we die?

You are grasping at straws.

Near death experiences are in now way a reliable testimony of what will happen when we die. If this brings you comfort and reassurance then good for you. My mother died for eleven minutes and she said it was like she blinked and it was eleven minutes later. Nothing happened. Both have the same amount of validity.

It's like before we were conceived.

Also, you don't need to capitalize the word "atheist".
