You are on the right path. You had accepted that you are part of a dysfunctional family.

Second, look for help. counseling, counseling, counseling.

Good for you, that you have a brave spirit and want to overcome your dysfunctional family instead of making DRAMA out of it.

all families have their dysfunctional behaviors.. and no family is perfect, hon.

i think that, whatever the problem is, you might be able to do a yahoo search for help on a particular topic.

if you need someone to talk with? try your school counselor or another adult you trust and respect.

and take care of yourself. hugs

I have the wackiest family in the world. We're as disfunctional as you can get... but to answer your question, you survive it by just acepting your family members for who they are. If you've lived with people for a certain amount of years, anything they do should not surprise you. Just know what to expect... or you can always put it on reality t.v.

believe me mine is plenty messed up but i just remember that what i do in the future is my choice and what belongs to my family is theirs and not mine and when i have a family of my own i will do things the right way

just take it one day at a time i guess

thinking about all the things you love about them, and the great things your family has that other fmailies dont. maybe a family counsler, or at least being open with eachother about any problems.=]
