It depends on the breed and amount of exercise/play time he gets during the day.
A 30 minute walk in the morning and a 30 minute walk at night is a great start because your dog will get a healthy amount of exercise and it enables the two of you to bond and form a habitual routine.
If you have a more energetic breed like a lab, you may want to include at least one 1 hour walk per day. If you can't work this into your schedule then hire a dog walker to take him for an extra walk every day.

That depends on the dog, their breed, their size, their energy level. Some dogs, like dalmations, retrievers, poodles, need a lot of exercise, so a long walk twice a day or more is wonderful. Other dogs like a mastiff, great dane, greyhound, need less exercise so once a day is more than enough.
Watch the dog. Are they pacing in the house, digging in the yard, constantly going to the door? If so, they are probably wanting more exercise than they are getting, and several walks a day are called for. However, if they tend to lay by your feet or curl up next to you, then a single walk per day is probably fine.

Depends what kind of dog it is....it should be walked at least once preferably twice a day, but the distance or time really varies with the breed- I walk my mastiff about a mile every morning, and take him for a much shorter walk at night and that is great for him, my weimeramer goes for much longer walks two times a day- but she was built a lot differently. Back in the day when I had a bulldog, she acted like I was torturing her if her walks lasted any longer than 15 minutes....

It varies on what dog you have.
For example, If you toss around a ball with your chihuahua for ten minutes its all the daily exercise they need for the day.
If you have a big dog like a APBT or a Doberman or may I say Golden Retriever they need more walking and exercise. A walk around the block 2-3 times a day is best.
Good Luck.

How big and active is it? Labs will walk as much as you will let them, but St. Bernards and bassets, for example, don't care to walk around a lot.
