I want a simple hair cut. But don't have $20 for it. What I want done, I can do on someone else. But not on myself. Which is to cut 3 inches off strait acorss at the back.

Go to a beauty school. For a simple cut, they are a good cheap solution!

you seem to have straight hair already. so, why can't you wet your hair and throw it over your face. you can use hair pins to keep it together, however you want to stagger the pins. some from the left and some from the right. depending on the thickness of your hair would determine how many hair pins to use. this will cause you to cut straight across. when you have finished this part. you can easily see the ends that should be trimmed to "tidy" it up. or you can have a friend help you out. either way, only cut 2 to 2.5 inches at first to allow yourself room for maintenance.

I have been a hairdresser for 22 years, while I wouldn't recommend it, you could have someone else do it, like a friend. You don't say if your hair is all one length, and what length are you trying to get it? if it is past your shoulders and all one length, just brush it all flat (make sure the hair is wet!) and have them start in the back with about two inches of hair and make a straight cut across to desired length. They can then use this piece as their "guide" for the rest of the hair, making sure that it is even all the way around.

If your hair is longer than 12 inches it is fairly simple, wet your hair, get an equal amount of hair on either side of your head in front of you and chop off equal amounts on both sides. If your hair is fairly long and thick you won't notice anything if it is slightly uneven. Don't chop too much because dry hair is shorter than wet hair.

Go to a Beauty College "most" of time all you need to do is give 'em a tip! And there will be a supervisor really close by.

Get a friend you trust and show her on somethinf else, than have her go at it. If you cant afford $20 for a good one, then obviosly your not going to get perfection.
