My son was a pumpkin for his first halloween. If you go to google and put in newborn costumes, it will come up with many sights to go to plus names of stores to find something at. My daughter was a flower when she was about 3 months old. If you don't want the expense though, you can usually find sleepers that are especially made for halloween. Good luck

I'm not sure if he'll cooperate when you try to put him in the costume...but yes, they do make costumes that small ;) They might make him uncomfortable, though.
This is going to be the first time my daughter is going to go trick-or-treating in costume. She's going to be Tinkerbell! Aw!
My other two little ones are going to come along in strollers so that the whole family can be together. Instead of a costume-costume my daughter's going to be wearing an orange jumpsuit with a black bat and my son's going to be wearing a black jumpsuit with an orange bat! :D

A teddy bear. I just put a footed sleeper on him, drew whiskers and a black nose with eyeliner, and 2 cotton balls for ears. Halloween is also his birthday. I never had to worry about a theme for his parties, I just wrote on the invitations that the guests should wear their Halloween costumes, and decorated the house to make it look spooky, and there ya go!

Mine was an angel. It was basically a pair of footed jammies, white quilted, with sheer soft wings sewn on the back. You can find a lot of onesies that will qualify as a costume without making the little one uncomfortable. I'd try Target, or Mervyns, someplace like that.

My daughter was "Simba" from the Lion King movie, and she was sooo cute!!! She was thrilled to have a little lions tail, she showed it to everyone in our family!!! My husband and I started taking her trick or treating when she was 1 (one). So, she wasn't tiny. Prior to that, we stayed at home and passed out candy, and she loved seeing all the kids dressed in different costumes that came knocking on our door.
Your son might not fit in a store bought costume, however, you might find a seamstress who will sew one for you. A one month old child is soo tiny...but, you never know, check out specialty baby boutiques around your town. Good luck! I bet he is so cute! And, don't forget to take pictures...they're little only once in their lifetime.

My son was originally supposed to be eeyore but it was too cold that night to dress him like that so we bought him a fleece tigger sleeper that had a hood with ears on it. I still have it and he was about 5 months. My daughter was born on Oct 17, 2005 and I did the same thing for her. I bought a white and orange pumpkin sleeper for her at the Goodwill for $1.00 before she was even born. It fit her perfectly!!! Now that was a deal!!

They have the cutest costumes for little babies---many are "buntings" so the feet are in together like those baby nighties---here's one:

BTW look for something warm like this if you are going out with other kids trick or treating.
So my son I had a white jumpsuit that I put black spots on and a little headband with spots and ears---he was a dalmation!
Have fun. Congrats on the baby.

I didn't take my daughter for her first Halloween. She first went a little over 1 yr. old, and she was a cute little mouse! It just worked out - she had gotten a cute gray sweatsuit (pants and a hooded zipper jacket) , with pretty pink satin trim details as a birthday gift earlier, then I saw a mouse ears headband at Walmart, and I found a gray shoelace to cut to size and pinned on as a tail, added some make-up whiskers and a nose, and off we went! She was adorable!
