um, one is a part of the other? Joseph Smith says that he saw Jesus in a vision -- so the biblical stories of Jesus Christ have to be accepted too. it's not one or the other... and here's another clue: they're both not only believable, but truth.

Apples and avacados.
Joseph Smith's story WAS Jesus' story.
Jesus is our SAVIOUR.
Joseph Smith was a prophet, nothing more.

Because Joseph Smith does not match up well with Jesus. JS was a known counterfeiter, thief, treasure hunter, and forger. He was a snake oil saleman. As it turns out he was pretty skillful at it.
JC is way out of his league. There are more historical accounts of JC and his adventures that all seem to correspond. He was a carpenter, not a lying cheating scoundrel. I can respect a carpenter. I do not respect Joseph Smith.
I see your point, and maybe you are right... but I have to mention the fact that I would definitely hang out with JC and have a few beers if I met him, but probably punch JS in the face.

The story was true and witnessed about Jesus. No one witnessed what Smith said that happened.Pure fiction for the Mormons.

Exactly. Thanks, Meatbot! :-)
Mel, there were many witnesses of Joseph Smith's teachings and of the Gold Plates which he translated.

Have you actually looked at them both? Joseph Smith put a rock in a hat and consulted it to interpret these supposed golden tablets. Jesus allowed Himself to be killed on the cross and rose again three days later. Joseph Smith went down shooting in a jail. I am not seeing the similarities.

They are both claims of man with no witnesses. They are in fact identical. One claim of man is just as good as another.
