this afternoon i took my son to a play run in the local baptist church, he enjoyed himself and wandered around behind him, as mum do he wen into a area where they had set up toys such as beds, kitchen ets and i nocticed that the too dolls one bot one girls were VERY anatomical correct i was quite shocked as i had not seen dolls like this before, as toys aimed at young children are these required for play?
I think that it slighty too much info on a young childs toy how bout you??

i totally agree with you

we do not need to rush everything
children need to learn at a decent pace
somethings they need to learn now others things should be left till later

As a parent you should be able to decide what information your children are exposed to, without other people overriding you. You are the parent. This particular situation is one that many parents would feel uncomfortable about. On the other hand, some parents like their children to see extra details like these, to them it's important. But there's no need for people to have unnecessary information rammed down their throats whether they like it or not. A doll is a toy, not a miniature human being "just as god made us", just as a teddy bear is obviously not a miniature real bear and a dolls house is not a miniature real house. Have you ever seen proper drainpipes on a doll's house? Do we grow up confused and embarrassed about them when we find them on our real house? So, it's completely OK to be shocked, and not to want your children exposed to that sort of thing, you should go and express your feelings to the person who is responsible.

I don't think so. The anatomical correct dolls are the newest thing in dolls and I, personally, think they are a great idea.

***Edit***
These dolls can be great tools for teaching your child where it's okay to let someone touch them and where it's not.

I believe most of them are for children ages 3-9.

I think if your children are going to be exposed to this type of toy it should be the choice of the parent and not at a play center.

I have to admit I would find it slightly unsettling too!!

I mean I know I always undressed dolls to see what was under them, but I dont think I really needed to see girl or boy bits

I can see your point :-)

I don't think its a problem. The human body is nothing to hide or be ashamed of. If he asks what it is, tell him the truth.

oh please why would a doll showing a mick or a figina damage a child, its nothing to be ashamed of we all have them, he came out of one and its life, dont have your child thinking this is something to be ashamed off that'll do more damage

I think I would be equally offended.

I am a bit of a prude and I don't care what other people think about that.
