Oi Vey!!!

Because god scattered the humans when they built the tower of babel of course. He doesn't like us getting all smart like him. He showed us that in eden. Dinosaur bones are an atheist conspiracy to plot the end of christianity.

Fireball, is that how you explained to your husband when your kids turned out to be a different race than you 2?

It's scary when people agree with my answer when I meant it as a joke.

Who said they looked just like we do now? Most Christians I know freely state that there are drifts within the genetic code. This is similar to breeding different types of dogs like German shepherds and Terriers. They look different, but are still dogs.

The problem I have with evolution is that it states new genetic code is added somehow and a new species pop out. They are saying a dog can become something else, which does not happen.

To answer your question though
a) When people groups are isolated, different characteristics show up over time.

b) God made them too. It's important to note though that many "prehistoric humans" are later found to be not human. For example:
Java Man was the skull of a gibbon.
Nebraska Man was the tooth of a pig.
Piltdown Man was an orangutan.
Lucy's knee bone was found 200 feet deeper than the rest.

Not all Christians believe evolution is a myth. Creation and evolution are not necessarily in opposition to each other. If we acknowledge God as the Creator who set in motion the process through which all things came into being, that does not mean that things did not or have not "evolved." Be careful about assertions about human evolution. Scientists now know, for example, that the Neanderthals were a seperate species from us. Evidence exists that homo- sapiens (sorry about the censor!) and neanderthals had attempted to mate but offspring did not survive. I had been taught in school that all these pre-historic "humans" developed along a linear path. That doesn't appear to be true. We survived because we adapted and perhaps that is one of the forces which God set into play. I don't think anyone can say for sure.

You will likely get a lot of responses from fundamentalists. Personally, I think it is kind of pointless to argue because neither science nor religion can provide us with an absolute answer to this complex question.

You addressing this to ALL Christians? Because I am a Christian, and I believe in evolution. I believe that dinosaurs and prehistoric humans existed before Adam and Eve, who are likely the first in the line of what became the Judeo-Christians. In any case, many of us do not take the Bible quite so literally. Careful not to stereotype everyone.

That said, if someone DOES have a traditional, medieval view of Christianity, then they believe God can do whatever he wants. Wouldn't that include being able to create a diverse array of people, complete with different colored skin? Why not? And couldn't he have invented fossils if he wanted, even if dinosaurs never existed? Perhaps they are a test of faith. And who is to say that a century form now people won't find out that carbon dating is not as accurate as people thought? Weirder things have happened, even in science.

Those are not MY arguments, however, as I do believe in evolution, as previously stated. Rather, I just mean to indicate that if someone believes in God in a traditional, conservative manner, they believe that God can do anything. So your question ultimately does not prove anything either way for them. What's the point?

a) because the normal mechanisms for developing skin pigment and other diversity was intelligently designed to work (Except that with longer life spans and the flood, there is less time for it to kick in)

b) apparent age: god created the fossils to give the appearance that the world was an old one. (this implies a deceitful god.)

Edit:
a quick scan of www.harunyahya.com shows it to be more of the same debunked creationist "pseudo-science" that has been circulated before. I especially like this quote:
"It should be pointed out that evolutionists have no answer to give to the book you are now reading. And they will not even attempt to answer it for they are aware that such an act will simply help everyone to a better understanding that evolution is simply a lie." This particular book then goes on to misquote evolutionist and rehash old arguments.

The best and most authentic research on evolution and how it is no more than a theory can be found at the following website. www.harunyahya.com
the website has free videos, presentations and books, all dealing with evolution and how science it self disapproves of it
