In the past year and a half I have been giving off a pretty strong odor on most days (i don't know why not everyday or vice versa). I am also not overweight (I'm 16 yrs, 5'11, 145 lbs). I usually smell fine after I take my showers (2 a day), but once I put my deodorant on (i use the stick now, last year I used spray), a little later I start to smell pretty bad. I wasn't able to smell it last school year but I can tell when I smell bad this year.
My diet hasn't changed durastically either. I just want to know if there is any way I can help this problem. I cannot last like this anymore in my life, I feel like I've tried everything.

I do have a doctor's appointment next friday, but I feel embarrassed if I were to ask my doctor what I should do about my body odor.

Sometimes if you body is dehydrated it will give off an odour. Try drinking extra water, frequently changing your clothes and trying out different deordorants (they dont all work the same for everyone)

Good Luck!

First of all, doctors are being paid to listen to a patients medical problems, and you say you feel embarrassed to ask a doctor about your problem, well do you think he will be the slightest bit emabarrassed to accept the office visit payment? of couse not and neither should you!

The body smell could be coming from too much garlic in your diet, or from the roll on deodrant that you are now using, try getting a brand name deodrant instead of the cheaper knock down priced ones.

Do you use any type of hair tonic, like brillcream, etc, maybe they don't make that anymore, I forgot, you said you were only 16, sorry!

I am not a medical doctor but when you do see the doctor, be as honest and upfront with him about your problems as you can be, and remember your paying him for his time so get your money's worth.

Good Luck,

Being overweight doesn't have anything to do with it(just so u don't think overweight people smell)Don't be embarrassed to ask for help or talk to ur dr.Some people have severe sweating and i've seen it on the medical channel and you can get shot's of Botox(i believe it's botox but not 100% of the medicines name)and you get injections under the arms and other rpoblem areas. There are also some diseases that can cause an odor so seeing ur dr is a good idea.Trust me if the worst thing u have to talk to ur dr about is this problem you'll be lucky(there r tons of embarrasing things dr.s see and it doesn't shock or phase them)There r also prescription deoderants they can give u.Good luck.

Ask your doctor, it's confidential. If you can't figure it out, then get prof. help. If you are going to the doctor, just ask. What will it hurt if you do? Self confidence is so important, and there is nothing wrong with asking your doctor to help you boost it. It may be so simple. =) In the mean time, just keep showering twice a day, maybe reapply your deoderant, or try a different brand if it's not working. Ask the doc!! Good Luck!

You could have dental trouble or even a sinus infection- either could cause an odor. Do you have a bad taste in your mouth too? Don't be embarassed- doctors are exposed to everything and everything and this isn't something really odd that you've got to feel anxious about.

Maybe you're not putting enough deoderant on? Don't cake it on, but put about two thin layers on. You should talk to your doctor if it doesn't help. I'm not sure why that's happening but you might as well ask. You're doctor's not gonna be like "eww!! that's disgusting!!" or something. They've heard way worse.
