He says Satan's body is made of pipes. I've recently heard others describe how he was supposedly an angel of music. Where are they getting this from? I'm fairly familiar with both Milton and Dante, but none of this rings a bell (no pun intended).

Satan was invented by the Christians 200 years after Christ was crucified. He was added to the bible during the time of Constantine and has been used ever since to put the fear into people who try to stray from what the Bishops and popes wanted them to think! Now everyone pins this character on pagans and Wicca so that they can crush the thought that we could be telling the truth! (This IS in history! Though it is hard to find since most of the history books have been changed over the last 50 or so years!)

Matt:
Please refer to my response to the question you refer to for more detailed info. I'll keep my response here on point.
I've never heard anyone describe Satan physically, though it has been generally understood that He and the demons who followed him became physically hideous as punishment. Angel of Light, perhaps, but not an Angel of Music. I'm not sure where people are getting that kind of info.
I think Milton and Dante deal more with who Satan is than what he looks like etc. For example, what can we deduce from Satan's response to God. Better to rule in hell than serve in heaven. That seems to be one of his characteristics, Pride, and that is believed by many to have been his downfall.

Its really hard to describe something thats unseen,
as the bible describes satan as the most powerful in all
of gods creation, he was deemed a very important cog in gods heaven at one point.
He held a very high position next to god.
He is described as an angel, that was named the shiney one.
As the question comes up many times can anyone ever sin
in heaven hes the first according to scripture.
Of course heresay and what was written can be taken any
way one chooses.
With all this in mind Satan in relation with mankind in my opinion is beyond understanding if he does exist.
Simply because he is an ancient entity, hes never died like
people die so whatever evil that is implemented by him we
would never know because generations have been born and died rolling with the punches of life to busy to even really wonder what makes it all really work.

I recently read that Jewish tradition originally thought of Satan as an angel sent to enlighten men by trying them with tribulations. In this light, Job makes more sense. I've never heard of the pipes thing though.

Hey, not a believer, it's cool! How can satan be real?....Honestly?....Have you seen him? Have you seen god? People try so hard to materialize this thing called "Faith." They have a book to go on (great novel btw), however, because this man made, man interpreted book barks the do's and don't do's for the "christian filled soul," suddenly christ has morphed into not one, not two but three beings they call the (trinity) (not that being 3 things at once is impossible). I'm a mother, a referee, a sister, I'm lots of things....really....no has seen god...no one has seen satan.....history prooves that rulers of kingdoms used fear as a means of control.....people need to believe in something.....or they feel insignificant and without purpose....

According to the Bible, Satan, or rather, Lucifer is a fallen angel. Before he fell from Grace he was the leader of the choir of angels. Angels were created by God for servatude. In order to stay in heaven they must obey God without question. Lucifer did not. There was an uprising and he tried to take over heaven. He got lots of other angels on his side to. However, God being God, THE HIGHEST, God kicked him out of heaven along with his minions, thus, Demons.
Lucifer is also referred to as The Morning Star, the Father of Lies, it goes on and on. I think the majority of the Biblical history of Lucifer is in the book of Daniel. There is more information on him in the book of Revelation. I think there is one more, but I can't remember what it was.
I've never heard the pipes thing before.

All I know about Satan is what I've read in Dante and the Bible.
So, as far as I know, he sits in an icy realm and chews on Judas, Brutus, and Cassius all day.

satan was made fire not like angels of light
but in the early of the life
god creat the earth and sent the fire angles or the satan race to live in the earth but they were so very bad and sine doerer&blood shedder while satan himslef was a good deor and pray for God and when god send the light angels to clean the earth from the bad satanism
he fight with the light angels the other satans
and after cleaning the earth he was sent to heavens and paradise and one of the good God army to the earth and the nearer to his throne servants and was real close to the God anbd after god creat Adam from clay
satan was mocking of him
and feel jealous
coz god make adam by his hands unlike other angels by vocal order to be
and after soul sent to adam from God
god order all the nearer angels to knelt for adam
and all the light angels do it but satan refuse and feel it as a humilation
coz adam was made of clay and dirt and he was made of the fine fire and sees himslef more superior to Adam
thus God throw him away from paradise and thus satan ask God to show him that Adam and his offspring are not good and worse than satanism
and god tell him he will be in this race with adam son and his son to the judgement day
and satan do it by first cheat adam by the famous story of Apple and adam also expelled from paradise like him
and the race start over this ground to the judgemenet day

Reminds me of The Phantom of the Opera (the book, not the crap musical). There is NO Lucifer story in the bible so I have NO idea where Lucifer came from. It is truly bizarre.
