There's some sort of attraction because a date is happening. WOO HOO!! you go! go be you. don't be easy - um... unless that's your goal.

Trust your first instincts. And it's OK to be cautious.

LOL been there done that! I was sooo nervouse, I drank 3 seagrams and 7 up while making pasta for my date, and sat on the phone with a good friend for over an hour debationg on how and why to cancel! Finally, my friends husband picked up the phone and said look, what do you both have in common? I said, um, well we both enjoy that tattoo show on TV and he said great! Tell him you want to tattoo the word MOM on your butt, so when you bend over it says WOW! I laughed so hard I cried and that helped break the tension right there. I even had then plan on calling me 1 hour into the date, just to do a check in call, to make sure I was okay, and didn't need an out. That helped so much because I knew if things were not going great, I had a chance to opt out after an hour.
Moral of my morbid fairy tale? Three years later, I have a beautiful family with him, and I am very happy, and guess what? I never did have to tattoo mom on my butt, and we laugh about that to this very day. Have fun, and Godbless!

The best answer is to just be yourself. However, hopefully this date is like just dinner or something in a public situation. Make sure you listen and don't monopolize the conversation. There should be a 50-50 type of interaction. Let someone know that you are going out, who with and where and keep your cell phone handy. Good luck!

You know what I like..."The Rules" a book by Ellen someone. Anywho..just go out and enjoy yourself! Dont' talk sex and prior relationship. If he asks, answer whatever about your divorce, but don't make that a focal point of the conversation. Concentrate on yourself, your likes, your dislikes, movies, weather...just enjoy each other's company. All the rest will fall into place. Have fun and don't be nervous! It's going to be fun!!!

Just be yourself, relax, and don't come off desperate. Although you have a history, you probably have a lot to offer someone and that makes you an even more interesting person. Just relax and have fun without thinking about it too much. Start from scratch, take it slow, and whatever you do . . . don't compare him to your husband or try to replace him with a clone. Good luck and have fun.

Just dress comfortable and nice, be relaxed, smile from time to time and make conversations about easy topics at the begining. Don't rush to talk about commitment or things like that, just have a good time.

think about this. what's there to be nervous about? it's not like you're 15 and on your first date ever. you're most likely dating someone near your own age so he's more than likely feeling the same way. relax and be yourself. it's all good .

Be yourself, ( You! not Brad Pitt....don't pretend to be something your not.) Don't rush things, (don't talk about marriage, or children, or even next week's date..) Don't lie, (if it's not what you expected, don't make plans to do something else). Have fun, (just not TOO much fun, don't get drunk, or have sex on the first date...both are very tacky!)
