If your mouth is still numb from the Novocaine, you really shouldn't eat anything. If you are starving and just can't wait, try some clear broth but make sure it isn't too hot. If the Novocaine has worn off, try some soup, jello, or pudding.

Actually, you CAN eat after getting a tooth pulled. I got 9 teeth pulled out at the same time when I was getting ready for braces, and I ate mashed potatoes (make sure if you put gravy on them that there isn't any pepper or seasoning that could get stuck in your gums), and pudding. That is, of course, after about an hour with gauze in my mouth until the bleeding stopped ;)

Make sure you DON'T eat or drink anything that's very hot or very cold. Also don't use a straw, as the suction could loosen a blod clot.

Basically you can eat whatever you don't have to chew or suck ;) Good luck!

Something soft and not too hot or cold. Make sure that you rinse your mouth after eating so that nothing gets stuck in the opening where the tooth was and causes infection.

Try not to eat things that take a lot of chewing...you'll get cramped and your extraction site will ache. Also avoid very hot and very cold foods.

stick to soft foods for now... yogurt, pudding, applesauce, mashed potatoes... try a soft foods diet or a liquid diet for a few days, until you feel a bit better.
