Candles and pumpkins (or I might go turnip this year! Lol!)
Sweets for the kids at the door. Pumpkin lights and autumn wreath. Sausages(veggie) and apple pie. A quiet ritual and a raising of the glass to those we have lost - and some time spent with the Dark Mother as I look back over the year.. I love Samhain.

We are holding our annual Althing during the Winter Nights celebration. Our group has a seidhkona, so she may do the siedh. It is the traditional time for such a ritual.
I will be bringing some bottles of pumpkin mead. It's the "Howling Jack" recipe.

Aaaaah, Winternights.
I do a spirit feast for my ancestors and honored dead, and a Disablot . . . a rite of offerings to the Disr, which in my traditions are familial mother goddesses, bearers and weavers of our luck and protection.
Ascended ancestresses, more or less.
There'll be tobacco and parched corn for the Tsilagi ones, single malt Scotch and shortbread for the Highland ones, and something decadently sweet and complicated for the Normannii ones . . . we did, after all, spent some time in France. And homemade mead, of course.
Timing's inexact. It would be the 13th or so in most of Scandinavia, but in South Texas, we wait for the heat to break before we break out words with "winter" in them. *G*

samhain is my favorite time of year. i'm not sure what i'm going to do yet besides decorating the house and passing out candy to the neighborhood kids.
i am hoping to go to a larger festival where there would be many different paths and and a huge bonfire. it's been several years since i went to join a group to celebrate. it feels like it's time.
bright blessings to you.

Nothing really major. My mom and I will be lighting candles and placing them in the windows for our lost loved ones of course. probably handing candy out to all the kids that come to the door. cooking. drinking. laughing and remembering the good times we had with those we have lost. Its always a very nice evening and has always been my very favorite day.

Giving our candy, dressing up, carving pumpkins, heck I might even cook!
But then, I also plan on leaving offerings of respect for my ancestors and looking through my old family photo albums. And, of course, meditating and doing a ritual to celebrate the end of the year.

people who declare to be a extreme Priest/Priestess yet instruments out to take great component approximately others. The authors that don't do ANY type of analyze, only writes approximately how terrible all of us else is and then makes up crap and calls it "authoritative". Fluffy Bunnies annoy me, yet not almost as plenty because of the fact the Wiccans who declare no one would nicely be a "witch" until eventually they circulate via a definite trad (custom for people who do not comprehend) and be formally taught via them. Witches weren't "taught formally" in historical cases... they found out what replaced into appropriate for them and surpassed it down via kinfolk/acquaintances/and so on... there have been not any underground "witch faculties" back then, so this concept is definitely ridiculous to me. Then there is the Racist communities interior my very very own faith... those people burn me up. They use our religious symbols and bits and products of lore they found out from ww2 and the nazi regime (which replaced into completely tousled first of all) and then attempt to declare they are doing what our gods prefer *Sigh* i'm undecided approximately any single team that has helped all persons the main, yet some have carried out plenty to convey Paganism in maximum circumstances to gentle. Covenant of the Goddess, Circle Sanctuary, The Troth, Asatru people assembly, The Pagan Federation (uk), Avalon Isle beginning up, Earth Religions criminal counsel community... there are a number of communities that have helped us get out into the popular public, yet with each and all of the previous propaganda that has been lingering for the time of those a protracted time, i believe it is going to take much extra persons to get obtainable. yet we do could take care of the assholes in our communities. in assessment to different religions who, while they have somebody giving them a foul call, they simply pull the "they are not a real....." as quickly as we detect people who're giving us a foul call, we could decrease them off... publicly. only saying "he's not authentic to our faith." would not do a element approximately how the popular public in maximum circumstances perspectives us. they'll remember the undesirable adult men swifter than the solid ones.
