is there any difference between what actonel protects vs fosamax?

A scientist told me that fosamax is better than actonel because fosamax actually builds up the bones to be stronger; actonel only prevents the bones from getting weaker.

I take Fosamax D. I was going to try Boniva, but my doc said he thinks Fosamax D is best.

Actually for me it might depend on how your body will react on either of the two. If you have tried them both then maybe it is only you who knows which one is better. What makes it really effective is when you follow the right prescription that was given to you and by not doing things or eating foods that might conflict or slow down the effect of the medicine. but, you can ask your doctor to examine which of them will be better for you. Here is a link that only contains information about Actonel and maybe it might help you
