yes, this is safe. The base ingredient in Neosporin is petrolatum or Vaseline- safe for lips

RE:
Is it safe to put antibiotic ointment like Neosporin on your lips?
My lip was seriously chapped, and has now cracked. It's been this way a few days. It just keeps cracking in the same place, it won't heal.
Is it ok to put antibiotic ointment on my lip? Of course I would try not to lick my lips. It really hurts.

Yes, it is safe to put Neosporin on your lips. As long as you don't digest it you will be fine. Even if a little gets into your mouth and saliva, it will not harm you. In better terms, as long as you don't eat it, you will be fine!

Yes, it's fine I do it all the time-like you said, just don't lick your lips. They also make Neosporin lip balm you may want to try-it's similar to Blistex, you squeeze a small amount out and rub around w/ the applicator.
