hey all
yesterday, i had a really really sore throat
and today i have been off school because i didn't have enough energy.
My symptoms are:
- Lack of energy
- Every bone aches
- Eyes stinging
- Eyelids are very heavy
- Need to lie down
- Rushes of hot and cold every now and again
- Sharp stabs of pain over random areas of my body occasionally
- Painful sneezes
- Split and dry lips
- and i can feel a tummy ache comeing on...
So, does anyone know what i have? Because it feels a lot worse than a common cold. Should i think about going to school tomoro, considering I have a biology test?
Thanks

You've probably caught a virus.
Miss school until you feel a bit better, and skip the test you can always do it later. Plus, it gives you more time to revise!
It's better missing a few days now than missing more later because you make yourself worse.
Hope this helped! Get well soon x

It sounds as though you've caught quite a bug. I'm a mother of 2 young boys and my suggestion is to try taking probiotics. Have someone pick you up some acidophilus tablets and take about 2 of those in the morning and 2 at night, drink plenty of water, take a bath in natural minerals and if you can get someone to pick up some peppermint essential oils please have them do that too. Peppermint helps cool down a fever and also reduces headache and muscle pain. You need to use maybe some really good natural lip balm that moisturizes.
The acidophilus will help with your stomach pain and help you fight off the infection much faster. So here's a list to give to someone:
1. Acidophilus (Keep these refrigerated)
2. Mineral Bath Salts
3. Peppermint Essential Oil
4. Eucalyptus Essential Oil (If you have trouble breathing)
5. Natural Lip Balm.
6. Bananas (Try to eat these they'll help and are easy on the stomach)
DO NOT go to your doctor for medications all the time. Taking medications will suppress your immuno response. Just let your body naturally heal. It'll thank you in the long run. ;)

Ok so definately dont go to school, yes even If you have a Bio test because either way you wont be able to concentrate, its better if you make it up when you are better. I say you should go to the doctor because many of the symptoms you have can be the result of viral or bacterial infection that's causing you a sore throat. Doctors always recomend bed rest especially when you have no energy and your bones ache. Get some bed rest, if you can go to the doctor do it, make sure you take in fluids and have yourself a soup. Are you having problems swallowing food?

Although you might not think its the common cold, it could be a case of the flu! you have all the symptoms that I usually have when i've gotten the flu. Just stay home and rest and take plenty of liquids including O.J.
You're best medicine also is Thera-Flu....it'll knock you out but you'll wake up feeling much better. I recommend getting the orange flavored one also...its a little sweeter.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like the flu..stay out of school 'til you're better. You can make up the test later, besides if you go you'll spread the virus. Hope you feel better soon.

sounds like flu symptoms to me, are you running a fever? just like your mom would say: rest, liquids, tylenol, treat the symptoms no cure for the flu, to all who reads this getting a flu shot is a great idea, especially if burn the candle at both ends, don't eat/rest correctly, the rumor that the flu shot causes flu is not true, feel better

No you are ill! Stay home til you are better. Don't worry about the biology test, they will just make you do it some other time I think. Stay home and sleep, maybe watch I couple of chick flicks in the mean time!

hiya, i agree with every-one else, you have the flu, the hot and cold flushes are probably from a fever so check your temprature and take some paracetamol (it will help with the aches and pains), drink plenty of water and rest!!
hope this helps

One thing that you did not mention was whether you had a high temperature. If so you are likely to have the flu or another infection.
