I have ordered 2 different items off the internet, from 2 different companies, using a credit card, and the items were never sent. They do not answer e-mails and all I get on the phone is an answering machine. Who can light a fire under these people?

Dispute the charges with your credit card company. You should get the charges removed provided it is still within 60 days.

Find the items somewhere else.

First, if you received an answering machine and hung up without leaving a message, then call again, leave a message, and wait a few days.

After you have done this, or if you have already done this, contact the credit card company and dispute the charges. State (1) that the reason that you are disputing is that you did not receive the goods and (2) that you sent e-mails, called on the phone, and left a message on the answering machine, but no human answered and you did not receive any response.

Contact the merchants and inquire as to why you have not received your purchased.
Contact your credit card and inform them of these purchases
you did not receive.
Wait no more than 30 days from the date of purchase and then file a chargeback with your credit card if you have still not resolved the issue.
Be sure to do it within 30 days !!!
Using a credit card on-line is not necessarily any more dangerous than using it anywhere else. It's wise though to be careful WHERE you enter your credit card and other personal information. Always use a third party processor like Paypal,2CheckOUT,BidPay etc...that way the merchant never has direct contact with your credit card and does not get your personal information.
Using a VisaGift Card is not bad either BUT, because they are NOT accepted everywhere(despite the claims made on their advertisements)...mainly because most formats only accept credit cards with your name etc...on it (I think that's a bit ridiculous).
Other PrePaid cards are a safer option but tend to charge ridiculous fees...$10/month + other fees to use your own money that you prepaid...!!!

Contact your credit card and explain that the goods were never sent (they should refund your payment) and then email the company and tell them that you will report them to the Better Business Bureau. Then contact the BBB and report them.

That's why i don't buy stuff using credit cards, cuz now they know your credit card number. Next time, i recommend buying one of the Visa Giftcards and use that to buy stuff online, because it's like a credit card, except you put money on it like a giftcard, if that makes any sense.. lol

Did you print out the reciept? If so, just contact the company and let them know. They should send you out another one or refund your money.
